I had to laugh at the beginning of this video, with the descriptions of how some people in the US perceive the dangers of Mexico. If I were Mexican, I'd think twice before going to the US - a more dangerous country by far. Been here five years and have lived in Guanajuato (2 years) and now Mérida. Have also travelled to Campeche, Chiapas, and Quintana Roo. People from the US talking about how dangerous another country can be is a joke.

i have visited cdmx maybe about 25 times in my life (i have family there and i love it so i just go anytime i can) and i have never been robbed or anything bad happening to me, is all about being conscious of your surroundings, preferably dont wear a purse and not wear any flashy jewelry

Yo trabajaba siete anos en un barrio latino en Chicago, y me gusta mucho trabajando con los latinos y practicando mi espanol (Solo tengo cuatro anos de espanol de colegio, y espanol es mi idioma segunda y yo se mi espanol no es perfecto). For English speakers, I said Spanish is my second language and it is not perfect, but after enjoying my time working with Latinos and practicing the language, I sometimes think about taking more classes and trying to find a banking job in Mexico. Great tips on staying healthy. Something many people don't consider is washing their hands before they eat. It can greatly reduce the amount of new microbes one introduces to the GI tract. Think of all the things you might touch while walking around before you enjoy those delicious street tacos!

I thought it was a fun and informative video. The acting was excellent! I do think you can safely eat street food though. I look for places that are busy because they are not holding food. They should always have two people, one handling cash and one cooking with gloves. And I watch them for a few minutes before ordering.

Your video's are great, very accurate and not full of fluff like some of the other's I've seen. The 180 visa crackdown is apparently aimed at limiting people are unable to support themselves. I hear they are targeting backpacker types who appear to have no place to live, and may stay and become a burden on the system. They are fully aware of the perpetual tourist, and in fact, there is *nothing illegal about staying 180 days, leaving for a week, and going back. If you are not a resident however, you may be given less time at the discretion of the customs agent, asked for proof that you are not planning to stay like onward travel,. This *just happened to us, they wanted to see our proof of travel, and, gave us 17 days. Luckily we were only planning a 2 week visit that time. If I was planning to be there 6 months, I would have explained that along with where I planned to live, and still provide the proof that I planned to leave.

Hello! I am so glad I just watched this video, because I am in Mexico now, & did not look at the amount of days I was granted in my customs form…. I looked & it says 11 days!!!! I was planning on a month 🙈what will happen if I overstay?!

Hey guys ! We are so excited…. We got our temp residency visas yesterday in Atlanta ! But, we retire in 10 months. We are too young for social security but we could show assets so we’re good. Anyway, We were/are planning to go do temp residency part 2 in Mexico, taking 2 weeks off in July or August….head down to our future home San Cristobal de las Casas. But, now we are hearing that it is taking some people up to 2 months in certain cities ??? We have to get to Mexico within 6 month….we will still be working, and two weeks off is max for us. Figuring 2 travel days we’ll have 12 days there in the ground…can we get this done ? My wife is originally from Nicaragua and we’ve been married forever so Spanish is the easy part. ……we are stressed. We did this because of the tourist visa issue, not getting 180 days plus we plan to be there for years.

Hola Sergio. I broke my leg five days before returning to Atlanta. What an experience. Ouch. Think about a video on healthcare. I had to have surgery. I lost my flight home. I’m now an illegal in Mexico despite trying desperately not to let my 45 day visa expire. Etcétera etcétera. Plus the money. And they want cash! I’ve spent about USD$20,000. So far. Hopefully my insurance will reimburse me when I get home but I’m glad I had the money. What do poor people do?? Thank God I will get better but what an experience. Think about doing a video on healthcare. I had no idea??

At the north area as Cuautitlan Izcalli as invest to retired , it is so close from Mexico city and have everything to give the american retired people good quality life... I visited Mexico City and I think that this place need some invest it could be cool for retirement and heritage a land with value ... principal is in the Valle of Mexico and I can drive to many differents towns, and its not too expensive as buy in Mexico city
