Hey Crystal, I’m 45 and starting peri-menopause too. I think it’s time to get my hormones checked. Thx for talking about it. I just got back from a cruise and it’s getting back to normal. I noticed a little less entertainment but it was okay, just spent more time relaxing by the pool. Great chatty vlog!

I’m full blown in menopause on HRT and it’s been the best thing ever for me. I also use Charlotte’s Web cbd supplements. They work really well to relax you and fall asleep. Peri-menopause my dr had put me on a low dose bc pill and it helped as well. The struggle is real and I hope you find something that works.

Hi Crystal! My favorite vlogs are your GRWM and random chats such as this one. What you're going through with hormones is so relatable with us who are going through similar changes or have already gone past them. It is not easy and we understand and appreciate your sharing your thoughts with us. Even if it's a 5 minute "hello" vlog, we always enjoy seeing you! Your look today was flawless and very beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

So glad to see you back. I love your cruise videos…that is how I found your channel. We took our first cruise in 2012 when my husband retired from the military. We went cruise crazy and now have 49 cruises under our belt. We have done 8 cruises since cruising returned post Covid, including a transatlantic and a British Isles cruise. We have a Med/transatlantic coming up in the fall. Hope to see you and your husband return to cruising. If not, I still love all your other travel, packing, and what to wear videos. ❤️

Beautiful look Crystal. Sorry you haven’t been feeling your best. I was really blessed to have an easy time going through menopause which I attribute to working out. My husband and I went plant based last October and while it isn’t an easy diet to follow we continue to do it because the benefits have been wonderful. My anxiety levels have decreased, my allergies cleared up and I lowered my thyroid medication. I would highly recommend you try cutting out all dairy for a few weeks to see if that helps. We have given up dairy, oils, meat, eggs, gluten, fish. The only time we eat “normally” is when we travel. I highly recommend you play with your diet to see if maybe something you are eating might be bothering you. 🌸

Sounds like it's working for you, that's great! I already limit dairy and gluten. Slight allergy to eggs but do try to eat now and then for something different and protein. I have a hard time getting enough. I have changed things off and on with diet and not noticed much difference. Lately digestion seems better after stopping my probiotic.

Hi Crystal, so nice seeing you today! I'm a bit older than you but I can totally relate to everything that you are saying. Something that has helped me is a Mirena IUD. I suffered with terrible perimenopause symptoms and the doctor was ready to do a hysterectomy, I said that I wanted to try something else before making that decision so we tired a Mirena. It worked. I still have days though where I have no motivation but hot flashes, sleepless nights, my period have all stopped. It may be worth looking into. I hope that you get some relief soon!

Hi Crystal, I have had many of the same hormonal issues as you and about 6 months ago I started taking DHEA. The brand that I use is Pure Encapsulations 10mg. I watched a video of Dr. Bergs that talks about this. I noticed a huge difference within just a few days as far as my energy and motivation and much more clear thinking and concentration. I also have been using a topical progesterone cream for a couple of years. I believe that you have said that you live in Huntsville and I live in Madison. I found the DHEA at Madison Medical Compounding (MMC) Pharmacy on Madison Blvd. There are a lot of videos out there with great information about the DHEA. a side note, all of my hormones when tested showed to be in the normal range before i started any supplements, but I knew they weren't because I didn't feel good. I think this is a common thing from a lot of people that I have followed about hormonal health.
@MissCrystal
@MissCrystal 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for the recommendation. I think my old thyroid doctor mentioned DHEA years ago as a possibility. Although now with knowing my estrogen is high, I'm not sure I want to take the risk of using it due to it possibly raising the risk of hormone related cancers. I have a small fibroid and had some unusual endometrial cells recently that were thankfully benign. I'm glad you found something to work for you!

I really enjoyed this video. Your Make-up is lovely and I appreciate your health discussion. I’m your age and am going through surgical menopause since my full hysterectomy and oophorectomy in Dec 2019. Unfortunately, my symptoms are unbearable without HRT, but like you, I stop it now and again to check my levels and see if I can handle the transition myself. I also feel unmotivated a lot of the time and it’s helpful to know I’m not alone! I do have fibromyalgia which really interferes with things these days and is associated with chronic fatigue. Actually, my specialist says that the fibro came on hard because of the sudden change in my body after surgery - particularly the drop in hormones etc. Anyway, I love your uploads and will be thinking of you for the remainder of August and hoping you feel just a little bit more energised! 🥰🇦🇺

We have been on two Celebrity cruises since Pandemic- both were amazing. The cleanliness of ship was much better than any hotel we’ve been to. Also, there were 750 guests (out of 2200) on one cruise we took and it felt like we were on a yacht. We are about to go on a 9 night Italian Riviera cruise on Celebrity Beyond and can’t wait. Celebrity is our new favorite line, and we’ve been on most lines. Cruising, in my opinion, is better. We never got sick on a ship. I hope you get back out cruising again. The sea is an awesome place to be.😉

Hi Crystal, beautiful makeup. 💕 I went on a cruise a few months ago, and I’m going on another in September. We also went to Vegas in April, and so far I have not been sick , I’m just very careful wherever I go, sanitize, social distance..etc. etc.. It’s definitely a different travel world out there, but we all have to access our own level of risk and comfort. I wish you the very best during your menopause journey as I’m right there with you, I just turned 52 and it’s definitely been interesting, I have not been taking anything (I haven’t felt the need so far) but it’s definitely interesting to hear others and their experience’s. I am going on 73 so I can’t help you. Things have changed so much. I was 43 when I started menopause. I took progesterone and provera for years until they decided not to recommend anymore. Then I just went on a synthetic estrogen. I had the hot flashes and something I called cotton head. I was a few seconds behind everyone. I had a hysterectomy at 28 so I had different circumstances. Now I don’t use anything and I don’t need a Pap smear anymore. We just came back from 2 weeks in Africa and a week in Belgium and came home with Covid. Mild symptoms. We have trips planned every month in the remaining year. We are making up for lost time. Viking River and ocean cruises are our choice. Hope you get your numbers in order. God bless.

I didn't realize that I was on a LOT of "dopamine antagonists" so I just felt like crap. I am taking Mucuna Pruriens or Levodopa extract and WOW oh WOW the difference! Also I took a micronutrient test at home and it was enlightening too! My iron and potassium was bottomed completely out. A lot of meds and sups if they say they are for serotonin or GABA they actually lower your dopamine.

I've been on Progesterone cream for years. You will find eventually you don't need it every day and yes, it can zap your motivation. You will even need to eventually add Estrogen. It's a good idea to be on a liver tonic while on hormones so your body processes them efficiently. Irish Sea Moss minerals really help keep my hormones balanced and with energy. NAC has helped me too when i feel blah. LTyrosine is good but i feel like i build up a tolerance if I'm on it every day. i feel like you shouldn't be on any supplement every day as they can stop working. B 12 in the am helps a lot too. Good luck with your hormone journey.

There is no way I would want to get on a cruise ship right now- they are floating Petrie dishes IMHO. We wanted to go to Europe to celebrate our 30th but with Covid masking restrictions on public transportation being extended through September we decided to go to Hawaii instead. I Figured being outdoors and in the water we’d safer than being cooped up inside. I’m done with Covid though- I want to enjoy my life and take sensible precautions.

Hi Crystal, with the hormonal changes have you noticed hair thinning? Your hair looks great and I was wondering what kind products or supplements do you use. Maybe you can make a video about your hair care.
@MissCrystal
@MissCrystal 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Although I don't think it looks as good as it used to. Probably due to me not loving the color. Always too blonde or not blonde enough, lol. I had a period a few years ago when my hair was thinning. And of course thyroid levels can effect that. Thankfully my levels have been the same for years and I'm on a low dose of medication. I don't do anything special and I think it's actually shedding less. I don't heat style it much or use dry shampoo. Both can wreck your hair.

Hi! My suggestion as you said, is get informed. I've learned alot from Menopause Taylor. She's unbias, because she is not selling or promoting anything, and you can set a virtual appointment for a personal outline. She's excellent! Also, Heather Hirsch and Kathy Maupin. All three doctors are on KZfaq and I believe Instagram. I became surgical menopausal and was not informed of the changes that could arise, it was terrible! I had almost all dreadful symptoms and was prescribed an anti depressant. I did my research, tried pills(that was a positive source) tried compound creams, but did not work for me. Patches, did not want the hassle it falling off and much less, pellets. So after trial and error, I chose Estradiol and testosterone injections. I don't use progesterone because I don't have a uterus. I feel so much better and have my strength back. It's not 100% because it's not my own body producing the hormones, which some women have hormonal issues starting in their teens, i was not one of them. Over all, I'm happy with my choice.

Going through peri menopause also…same exact symptoms as you also..I have an appointment in September so hoping to start discussing options. I just turned 50 and I’ve already been two years in menopause. I think addressing diet and lifestyle is the most important factor. That being said despite teaching fitness and eating organic diet I was still suffering during Peri menopause. I decided to go on HRT after reading about the benefits. Most doctors or people only give the risks. I think Menopause Taylor is a great resource here on KZfaq. But you should really do your own research and work with your naturopath to find what’s going to work the best for you. Best of luck!
@MissCrystal
@MissCrystal 2 жыл бұрын
I agree about diet and lifestyle for sure. I do as much as possible in that area. Need to work out more with weights though if I can get more energy. I have watched some of her videos but find them hard to watch honestly. I've found some other great resources for information that's been helpful. Yes, each person needs to weigh their own risk factors. I think so many don't realize the health issues that can come from not doing HRT.

Hi, yes I used the original one from Anastasia years ago and still have them. I have her brow powder but do not find it covers as well as her pencils since I have so many bare spots. I can actually apply brows pretty quickly now since I've been doing it this way for so long. The Definer Pencil being wider really helps! We have a cruise planned for November. At 50 I started going through perimenopause with cycles every 3 weeks. I would get hot flashes during my period. Well let me say I thought they were hot flashes, (51) I started in May with them and warned my family I was going insane and to be careful around me. Ha! I went and bought Estroven, the rhubarb. At about 26 days it hit and controlled them about 90 percent of the time. Has helped a bit with the crazy anxiety but sleeping more than 6 hours impossible. And my cycle has finally missed a month. Trying to embrace but it is a difficult demon. Phew..

So the meds you are taking would that qualify as HRT? If not maybe consider HRT im hearing some women are very happy with it like LisalisaD1… or maybe just anti depressive
@MissCrystal
@MissCrystal 2 жыл бұрын
Technically yes because of the progesterone. Estrogen, Testosterone and Progesterone are the hormones needing replaced with HRT. Most need Estrogen but I do not as of now since I am not in Menopause yet. A lot of us fall into this gray area of peri menopause and not many options until actual menopause. I don't like the idea of antidepressants because of side effects. However, I know there are many options available and I'm not ruling anything out.
