Details you may have missed that I noticed (this is not at all conclusive): *You can see Jk gradually becoming better. In each of his cutscenes, you can see him transitioning from the wheelchair to a crutch to fully walking. *The Y.K. on the lighter stands for Yoongi because it is sometimes romanized to Yoonki *In the scene where Hobi is abandoned by his mom, you can see that his mother left a Snickers bar beside him and that's why he's so associated with Snickers *Joon gives the girl a hair tie because he sees that she uses a rubber band to tie her hair *Also, love that the line where Jin says he's afraid of being loved as he is; shows a scene where he is wearing clothes that he would normally wear which is comfortable sweatshirts but he changes into formal attire. This could be a metaphor of literally lying about who he is, to fit into the 'ideal type' of the girl BONUS: The girls acting as Jk's girl and Hobi's/Jimin's girl is Yuna and Ryujin from before they debuted as members of the girl group, Itzy. BTW they're making a kdrama out of the storyline and it's already in the making, so yeah, we're all looking forward to that.

Honestly, I’m not much of a music person. What really hooked me to the boys for good was the very rich and intricate BU storyline.

Y.K are Yoongi's initials btw. it's because the consonant ㄱ is pronounced somewhere between the G and the K sound. This is the case with multiple other letters as well. therefore there are different romanization methods for Korean. The one which is commonly used nowadays writes "윤기" as "Yoongi" while another method writes it as "Yunki" the second is why his initials end up being Y.K and why jk can confirm the girl is somehow related to Yoongi (who is also singing the same song Yoongi used to play on his piano)

You are exactly right about the whole Smeraldo story being created. It's a variation on the Beauty and the Beast story. There's an Instagram account for the flower shop owner that people still check because Big Hit has a habit of updating it and putting a future date on it that is the date of the next BTS album release. Also, the flower shop owner's name is "Yousef" and the name of the woman that tells him the story of the Smeraldo flower is "Amara", so Yourself and Love. They literally named the two Love Yourself. You seemed to have missed the scenes Towards the end of the Highlight Reel where Yoongi got into a major fight with his girlfriend. It's just my own guess, but I think that's maybe why he's in a hotel room in the "I Need U" MV, because he walked out on her and they'd been living together. I think it may also be why he's suicidal. In the very first scene that Yoongi's in for the MV, he runs his hand across the empty side of the bed, like there should be someone there. Also, with Jin, instead of trying to get ready for his meeting with the girl, he put the hat on and went back upstairs. He chose not to meet with her at all.

Hi Hanna. The events shown in this video are not sequential. They are at present time and flashbacks are shown. In this video, it was shown that they are not together and have a different life trying to explore having new friends which in this case, female friends. Remember in the last episode/video the group separated because RM and V were caught by the police. Jin and V had a fight. JK and SUGA had a fight and JK got hit by a car. Only Jimin and Jhope were the ones still seeing each other. I think nobody knew what happened to JK that's why nobody visited him in the hospital.... The umbrella has significance to Jimin. He has post traumatic syndrome, afraid of blood and water. In the next video, you will see and understand what happened to JHope and the girl while dancing and why Jimin was washing his hands stained with blood....V and Jimin accidentally saw each other..... RM saw the graffiti at the bus stop and it reminded him of V (they used to do that together)..... Jin driving mindlessly as if something terrible happened has significance and is related to JK....I don't want to spoil the story...... I agree with you that this video tells about missed opportunity like having new friends.... Hope you will continue the next chapter... the story is so intricate and amazing!!!! Thanks!

The bts song "the truth untold" is about missed opportunities. You should listen to it. It's based on an italian story of an ugly man who lives in a castle and quietly and secretly loved a girl who wandered into his garden where a special flower grew. In the end she dies and he missed his chance because his fear of showing his face to her.

Ive also seen people mention the girls represent the boys themselves... Since this is part of the Love Yourself album series, i think such an intrepretation is definitely not too farfetched. Mostly because they have often mentioned that the "Love" they talk about in their music, can/should always be interpreted through different filters: Love [between artist and fans, BTS and ARMY] Love [between friends or romantic partners (which is represented very litterally in the highlight reel)] Love [between "me" and "myself" (represented more figuratively in the highlight reel)] In that last case, perhaps the girls represent a softer "feminine" side of the boys. Perhaps not only of the boys in the Universe, but also of BTS: in Wings RM sang "i wish i could love myself"; in Answer: Love Myself they sang "I have reasons I should love myself". Also, in Boy with Luv(2019) they also juxtapose a gentler softer love to the more immature rough love of Boy in Luv(2014). The fact that in the end things go awry, perhaps it does mean that the boys are missing a gentleness or kindness or love towards themselves, and if they do then indeed: how can they be ready to love someone else? I guess that that here in the storyline and in all the different mv's and etc, they have shown so much trauma that the boys went through, but nothing about them healing from that. Perhaps this video showed their first steps into trying to do so, but maybe in a "wrong" way: again, how can they love someone if they dont love themselves? But im not totally sure about this interpretation. Also I cried so much the first time I watched the highlight reel..... It is so beautiful and heartwrenching... I wasnt really familiar with the way kpop approached their concepts, so this was suuuupercool and so unexpected to me to see how deep they went. The way the whole storyline was handled just kept blowing my mind and definitely solidified my appreciation for BTS significantly more.

Such a beautiful movie right? glad to get to watch it with you again. Although I still don't know what is the true meaning behind it, from my interpretation, I feel this is about the "regrets" and "self-doubt" we all have in our life and especially in our youth. We often think what if I did this, or what if I didn't do this, and we often think of "am I doing this right?". These millions of moments and memories are what we have to go through to grow up. BTS are using their music and movies to show this process which everyone will need to go through and tell us it is ok, a dancing start won't be born without all the chaos, you just have to trust yourself, love yourself to experiences all the things in your life.

I love how invested you got in this lol. No lie tho, when I saw it for the first time my emotions were all over the place too. It just does something to ur heart doesn't it? At this point we don't actually know for sure what the Highlight Reel means, there are a lot of different meanings and theories but you also missed some infos (because the storyline map is not totally complete). There are some old videos also related to the BU, like the VCRs of the Begin concert that shows how they met at school and what Jin has done! About the Highlight Reel, this is probably an alternate reality, one of many Jin created while trying to save them, but in this one he choose to live his life and let them go their way, but it ended up tragically again (for everyone) because he is stuck in this loop (this is probably why he looks sad at the end, he knows he has to save them in order to break the circle, but he is trying again and again and keep failing). And about the girls there is only theories at this point too, but one I really like is related to the Magic Shop concept you will see soon :)

Did you noticed how every girl representing the boys own characters. The girl with Namjoon is also poor and struggling like him. As u saw Jimin and jhope are with the same girl and Jimin tries to practice and dance like jhope to be with her but when Jimin and the girl dances the bump into each other(as u saw...) He then starts washing the blood from him hands and the girl is on the floor unconscious that's why jhope is carrying her to the hospital and until Jimin returns after washing the blood... Jhope already took the girl with him.
