a really cool detail a lot of people don't know about is that the anchor actually isn't centred on the sloop

Actually the Shops used to be closed at night in an early Version, the devs and even Community who tested that build said it was kinda annoying

there are so many good moments in this but "well maybe not that quiet" got me bad. great job man

one thing that surprised me when i started the game is that u cant swing from the ships ropes like in every pirate movie! i think this would be awesome if they added it well and could possibly be a new way to board ships similar to sword lunging, or adding a new tactic when on a ship by swinging around to distract your apponents

I would love to see weapons holstered. For example having a sword and flintlock on your belt and an eye of reach on your back. It’ll be a nice detail to make a pirate feel more piratey.

I think a good detail in SoT is that your character only burps when he's overeaten - that is, after five pieces of food! AND a great detail is that there was a reference to PoC early on - not with everyone, but with some sunsets you can see the green glow! In the movie this showed when dead people return - no wonder you see it more often in SoT :D

The idea for kegging the kraken was something I was thinking about a few days ago. That would be freaking awesome and would give more of a reason the carry kegs

it would be cool if they added some mini games like Poker or blackjack for the ship, the worst part of the game is sailing for forever while you and your friends have nothing to do but scroll through your phone or alt tab

There is a very nice detail in the game which I would never have thought of: The capstan is not centered.

Honestly, with the whole kegging the kraken idea here I think it should also go hand in hand with the thing being able to suck up any treasure on the deck of your ship if players are hiding underneath, giving more incentive to fight the thing to get your treasure back or find yourself running away with the penalty of leaving your treasure with the beast for someone else to fight and gather.

I like that different sounds are produced by the Pegleg, but Barefoot or Footwraps are like stealth silent. Plus you can feed your pets the food that makes sense!

A little neat thing is sound actually travels in SoT. When a canon is fired at a distance, you will see the flash before you hear the sound. The further it is the longer it takes to hear the sound. (I noticed this with skeletons shooting cannons at me on islands. You'll see the gunpowder ignition from the canon and then hear the sound a little after.)

This man just showed us his 17 years of after-effects training and we're still treating him as some mortal.

I miss your SOT videos, wish you posted more, but these ideas were really good. ESPECIALLY the lights at the outpost, and storms, night, etc. PLAYER LIT!!

You can light campfires with your cutlass! it takes a random number of swings but eventually it will produce a spark!

I don't know if this happens with all pets, but if I look at my bird pet through a spyglass, he makes a little questioning chirp and looks back at me with the side of his head. It's adorable

The game could benefit from small details like those. I hope Rare watched this vid. I hope Rare takes notes. Walking NPC's/NPC ships. We are supposed to be populating the world but there is always a finite number of players around and none are doing casual stuff around town.. Physics interactions with the world, like kicking boxes, throwing bottles, cutting vines, doing property damage on breakables...doing carefree pirate chaos would be nice during island explorations. Grappling hooks! I'd pay Rare to get rid of the stupid sword dash exploit in favor of something like a grapple you can hook to your mast and board ships or explore islands with. Grog making, mixing elements to create different booze mixes you could sell/drink that have variable drunkenness intensities.

about the "npc’s should know when you are a pirate legend", they do, for exemple, in the shipright shop, the lady when we closed her stock, said "working here is so unfAir", and after pirate legend, when we close her stock she says "hope i was helpful" or "come back for a chat one day"

if you look closely, really really closely, you might be able to catch a glimpse of water in sea of thieves mind blowing

Fun sea of thieves fact: feathered dinosaurs were actually theorized long before the Jurassic park movie, you can even see this in some art that the creator of the original movie made. This is contrary to the belief that deinonychus was the first dinosaur that kickstarted the feathered dinosaur theories

cool feature: when use cannon, it go boom.

There's a slight audio difference between digging in sand and digging in dirt, it helps me find the different types of worms :)

1:03 The NPC's do actually Recognize you! :) I remember in my early days od SeaOfThievin' almost all Npc's at shops would say things like "Who are you again?" and so on Now. I don't know if it's sheer coincidence, but they never say that to me anymore: now it's "Ah, my favourite customer!" "Welcome back, friend!" "An honor to have you here" I swear, I've paid attention to it

With the last update, I noticed the Shipyard lady is sightly nicer to you when you're Captain of the ship.

A missed opportunity is that the Pirates life adventures don’t increase in combat difficulty if you have more than one player, they are all the same difficulty no matter the crew size which is a shame(especially for the last tale where you fight the Dutchman where it takes about 12-15 cannon balls to take down the ship)

I want Rare to work in a lot of things giving life to the world instead of adding a new fort that's only going to be relevant the first month and then no one will do it but maybe tucking on it; i want them to give life to the outposts with the tavern second floor and random npcs being at the tavern, shoping and buying quests, eating and singing at the beach with a bonfire, fishing at the port or specially vendors that sell exclusive/discount items or quests who appear in the outpost at random in the abandoned pop-up shops that we have now; fixing the nitpicks like the capstan, chimneys, etc; reimagine the health mechanics with the potions shop from the beta and the food being a hunger mechanic; add the general shop at the port from the art book in which u can buy everything u need for your voyage from worms to empty chests, cannonballs and food (i know about the merchant alliance but that just feels lazy, i want a dedicated shop); add more wild life to the world like crabs at the beach that dissapear when enemy skeletons or ocean crawlers are gonna spawn, goats, wild boars that attack u when provoken but give more meat than a pig, different shark types, manta rays and whales in the seas, and even at the best a new sea monster like a sea serpent or even smaller krakens like the skeleton ones in kraken's fall that attack ur ship more frecuently than the big "shoot the lifeless tentacles to win a price" kraken, or specially, add at least one land monster boss like a giant crab at the beach, or a giant spider at the caves; also a new athena bounty hunter pvp faction that can only progress fighting the reapers. Ans pls Rare pls, add the fiddle as a playable instrument, the model is even at the plunder equpment shop as a legend of the sea achievment, pls it's been 4 years now. I know this feels like a christmas letter but one can dream.

The Keg + Sucker tentacle idea would be really cool. Not gonna lie, of all my time playing SOT (like 8 months) ive only encountered 6 krakens, and until just recently i fell victim to the *succ* attack.

probably not the craziest idea, but. Having different types of cracks and details on the different eyes of reach i feel would be neat, like the silent barnacle EOR could have smudges and grime and maybe some sand details on it whilst the kraken EOR and its variations had ink smudges and more devastating cracks on it.

When You fall on the water and then walk on the ground, your boots will just go "Squeak Squeak" for a few steps, meaning that those are actually soaken wet

with the new owning of the ships update on cool line the pirate lord says if you are pirate legend is "a ship fit for a pirate legend!" or something i didnt really think it would be relevant but here it is

About the footsteps differing: If you wear no shoes (and no peglegs) then your steps are very silent. I wish they made it so that the midnight blades set (a.k.a. the tucker set) also made no sound, even with shoes and peg equipped.

I want curses to give you a buff The fire one: if you hold raw food it will cook in your hands Sunken blue curse: hold a bucket for 7 seconds and it will fill with water. Just stuff that would be small and not major but just there for fun.

Maybe they stay open at night, but when you enter shop. They are napping and wake up when you want something from them. Like with the daytime animation where they turn to you
