When I visited Seattle I realised that it was my last day in the USA and I hadn’t yet been to a fast food restaurant. The people I was with were all going to eat in the airport hotel’s lounge bar where the food was excellent but I opted out saying that I was going to walk to the McDonalds just down the road. Just down the road was actually over a mile but eventually I got there. You know what people say about McDonalds when they go on about how awful the places are, how the food is cold and tasteless and the buildings tatty and grubby, well… those people were right! It was the worst burger meal I’ve ever eaten and believe me I’ve had some bad ones. The food was cold and tasteless, the building was well past it’s sell by date and the other customers were scary. How I wish I’d joined my friends in the lounge bar. 😕

Hahaha no way! Sounds like an old one because we found that most of the fast food places we’ve visited were actually surprising good! Except for this one that didn’t do veggie burgers 😂

Hello Linlinxxx here from 🇬🇧 loved the video!!!❤ lm so glad you made it out of Mexico and didn't choose Tiyana border we went years ago and they wouldn't let us drive our hired car in so we had to get on a most awful smelly bus in traffic jam for nearly 2 hrs in 90 degree heat 😡😡🥵🥵 made it though and was ok XXX 🥰🥰😘

Crossing the US border is always a suspenseful venture as we have done that this year moving to US eventhough we had all the documents .. But its a happy feeling once you are in and everything is great except for the subpar food ... Keep rocking !!!

Now that I'm back home on Oz, I'm able to start catching up in your epic vids. Have a couple of questions regarding the bike and your gear. In a couple of vids, Ollie's helmet has what looks like gaffer/duct tape around the chin. What's that about? And chain adjustment. I had to go out and buy a special socket (33mm, I think it is, maybe some other size, can't recall). And I need a long bar on it to undo it as it requires a lot of torque to tighten it. How do you manage that? What with all the stuff that you have to carry, I can't imagine a workshop full of tools being stowed in your luggage being doable. I see in previews that the bike has had some mechanical issues. No spoilers as I've yet to watch them. But I'll comment by saying that this would be a really excellent showcase for Suzuki and how good the V-Strom 1050XT is and that you don't need a $35,000 AUD Beemer GS in order to circumnavigate the globe. (The 1050 cost me $19k AUD in 2021).

Great to hear your catching up 😁 The tape is for the microphone setup to plug into the GoPro, not pretty but necessary! We don’t adjust our chain at all, just when we have the bike serviced. We don’t carry many tools 😅 Yes exactly this bike is perfectly capable of going around the world, probably more than once! 😁🙏 Thanks for watching!

So happy for you! I know you post videos a while after you have driven through the area, but I hope you got to relax and recharge your adventure powers! Now be very careful with your belongings. I travel through the US and Canada on my motorcycle, and unfortunately North America is the worst for theft of your luggage and electronics. Oh, with respect to your entry into the US, I've only ever done it via LAX or JFK (from London a few years back). Each time it's a nerve wracking experience. Having a wife who's a US citizen doesn't help, either. But at least you don't have to deal with the dreaded TSA or obnoxious passengers inside a cramped aircraft. If I could ride from Oz to the US or the UK without having to deal with airlines and the attendant bulldust that accompanies them, I'd do it.

What a huge relief for you guys! It must have been so good being in an English speaking country (even for Lavi!) again for the first time since the first week of your trip! I'm surprised you didn't go to Taco Bell for your first USA meal! 🤣 I think In and out burger has an even worse reputation than McDonalds! 🤣 That's so cool that you had Doug and Michelle looking after you. Did you notice all the Aussie Eucalyptus in California? Gum trees, palm trees and Teslas. It's just like here on the Gold Coast! 😂🤣😂🤣 Awesome episode guys! This one made me smile! 😁

Yes totally! We can’t believe how smoothly it went! Oh it was actually so nice to be back in an English speaking country, although we did pick up some Spanish it was still so hard to communicate well and now everything seems so much easier 😁 Haha Taco Bell not for a while now I think 🤪 we didn’t know in and out was bad! Surprised they didn’t have a veggie burger as most chains have now introduced it. We’ve seen Eucalyptus in so many countries actually especially hotter places, reminds us of Aus and we love the smell! Thanks so much! Glad to hear it 😊

@@LaviandOllie Yeah, most of the fast food places here have a veggie burger option as well as cafes and pubs, but I still come across places in small towns where a veggie burger is just the meat version without the meat, so basically just a salad roll. It doesn't happen very often but it does happen. That was what got me back into eating eggs again after being pretty much vegan. Being out in small towns on rides and not having much choice.

12:20 wow I was waiting to see you talking to a custom's officer or something, so you you only have to drive through and they asked a few questions, no EPA paperwork, no nothing. So the EPA just makes people get stressed for absolutely no reason lol! Congrats on passing through that's a huge relief! Btw, did you have to pay fees for your bike like (you did in Mexico) while crossing borders in Europe, or are they more flexible there.
