It may be for business but the biggest reason is to make people buy High definition earphones using type c which can deliver higher audio quality than 3.5 mm. Its simple.

Undoubtedly, The Reason is always Money Brother 😂 Vivo X5 Max in 2014-15 it was 4.75mm thin Still they gave a headphone jack Asus Zenfone 6z had 3 Side Symetrical display just not on Bottom there And they Gave a Headphone Jack and SD Card Slot in a Snapdragon Flagship Phone. Till date Professionals use wired headphones and they do last longer than Wireless ones making less e-waste they are repairable for the most of the part (wired ones) Batteries of Earbuds are yet 99% impossible to change Be it headphone jack or SD card slots they were removed for money Headphone Jacks were removed to sell overpriced Bluetooth earphones that will die in a year And SD Card Slots were removed to force the user to buy the highest storage variant possible or to entirely get rid of the old phone and get a new one because of short of space

Literally, everyone uses Bluetooth headphones, wired headphones are not repairable and break all the time. Most professionals use Bluetooth headphones for literally day today. No one uses wired headphones. Literally you can get Bluetooth headphones for 50 bucks truly wireless.

Did u forgot what he said? In those days Apple wanted to make an edge to egde display which in those days wast possible without folding it in bottom . Thats why the needed to remove headphone jack as jack is a thick component inside while speakers and ports are thiner.

@Saksham394 You mentioned the Edge to Edge display thing right but The Folded part of the Display that goes under chin isn't Powered up and about the Space for Jack Vivo X5 Max had a Bulged out Area in the phone for placing the headphone Jack We already have Thick iPhones and Camera Bumps The thickness for Headphone Jack is already there in iPhones and all other Android phones Just like the Vivo X5 Max if the Brand wants they can Definitely make it

Disagree🎉 The switch from cable to wireless was amazing ❤ I‘d never go back to connection via wire😍 I bought some wireless headphones for 30 bucks and the fubctions they provide for that price is just fabulous🥳 I highly recommend to switch if you haven‘t yet And if you have tried various earbuds then you will notice that the ones from apple really are one of the top products 🥳 So overall they just make great products for people🖖 If people have enough income they tend to choose the ones that are the best and over time people will have more income and want the greatest products 😊

@@RoyalDomiWhy do you need to remove the headphone jack to sell wireless earphones? Your wireless earphones will still work perfectly fine in a phone that has a headphone jack. If it was just about technology and not money, they would have kept the headphone jack and still made wireless earphones (which have their own specific usecase scenarios). Instead they gave the consumers no option. The reason is obvious.

Make up fake stories to force manufacturers to change . Maybe , get the regulations to enforce headphone jack to phones and fine 1 billion dollars to those who ignore .

I Doubt it.... Reason being building their new chain of business through TWS Airpods it only accounts for about 3% of their entire revenue but generated $8 Billion in first 2 years of it's Launch

3.5 jack is awesome. Easily accessible in total darkness. Also, you can plug in your phone while the phone is being charged. As for bluetooth earcraps, I don't use them altogether.

Don't spread missinformation, not only other brands created edge to edge display before apple but apple was one of the last brands to include edge to edge, they removed the headphone jack to force users to buy their airpods it had plenty of space.

It was straight up a good business strategy which worked fantastically. I mean apple makes insane amount of money just from Airpods. And just like this 😊 Apple's charger removal was a money making strategy as well.

The reason is that they won't be able to sell a lot of airpods if 3.5mm headphones were still usable. So they killed it and then released airpods. Other companies saw how much money apple made and followed the suit😂

should’ve tried to put the headphone jack above the notch, cause the display isn’t there. I know theres cameras and shit there but they could probably get rid of the face id scanner and replace it with just the camera and then use the space the face id scanners used to take up to make room for the headphone jack

Dude in 2020, the revenue generate by AirPods ALONE was MORE than that of companies like Adobe, Nvidia, AMD, Spotify, Twitter etc. The whole infamous meme of the Apple's "Courage" presentation segment was so popular because everyone and their dog could transparently see through the blatant greed of Apple behind the decision of jack's removal. The whole reasoning through curved AMOLED does not hold any grounds given that the curve is needed at only ONE edge of the display where the controller lies. Last I remember, iPhone was still having four edges in their models.

I don't think screen has anything to do with why 3.5mm jack was removed. It was rather more that the taptic engine apple started to use that takes huge amount of space inside the device at the bottom that kinda made 3.5mm jack lose it's place, since there is no room for it anymore.

It's little wrong First Nokia phone like n 73 and Sony 550i music edition phone have digital head phone Later Sony lunch 3.5 in phone later all brand follow that treand but 3.5 gives anolog audio quality and not high freq audio like digital So to bring back quality and water resistant they bring digital connector rather then 3.5

Apple removed the jack from iPhone 7 which has the regular display and he gave the justification for iPhone X. (-_-) The reason is Apple wants to introduce their airpods for which they need to remove the jack from their phones. Another reason was royalty. Apple had a patent for the lighting port. So the wired earphones produced by other manufacturers have to be created with lightning jack for which they need to give royalty to Apple. Pure business.
