@Richard Cranium I would rather think that they now have evidence of their expertise not only locally but also at the higher hierarchy levels. Also, the AWP movement could be also a way for former navy divers (seals, special forces) or coast guards divers to find a new purpose after their military career. This showcase once again that collaboration between services and teams like AWP, Chaos divers etc. Is the way to tackle the problem. Like our Belgian motto says, strength comes in Unity (l'union fait la force).

Thank you for searching for Donnie. His sister has kept his name out there. Asking hunters each season to be on the look out. Organizing searches. Contacting law enforcement asking for help. I pray Donnie can be found and laid to rest properly. Give Yvonne some peace. We did have some winter weather the night before some ice then snow making for slick roads. So many drove all the rural roads thinking he had wrecked or slid off an embankment. Stay Safe and God Bless each of you.

I am a suicide survivor due to my daddy being one of those veterans 55 years ago. We firmly believe his depression seed was planted December 7th, 1941 when he saw the Pearl Harbor horrors first hand. Until our dying day we, his children, will repeat over and over that suicide is never the answer and we have great compassion for the families that have walked, and sadly may one day walk in our shoes. If just one person turns and keeps fighting our passion will not be in vain! God bless and continue to comfort the family of this precious man!

My brother, unfortunately, was one of the statistics. He was a Vietnam vet. Lots of health problems and serious depression. He simply undressed to his underwear, turned the TV on, stopped taking all meds and was found when I ask for a welfare check by police a week after I couldn't get an answer by phone. Unfortunately, it was in July heat on the coast of VA. And he'd cut off ac. They knew before they opened the door. He and I was all that was left of my immediate family. And both my children have passed away from heart problems. He helped me through that so much and I understand what she means when she said how could he leave me? He was my rock but Vietnam did something to him that no one could fix and he couldn't live with any longer.

@@kapendell The nightmares are horrific. My husband is a Vietnam vet. I spent many years learning how to "bring him back" from his nightmares. I always felt "what kind of wife would I be if I just left him there, suffering?" Though I've been asked why I didn't just go sleep on the couch instead of waking up with bruises. But it wasn't his fault, I wasn't who he was fighting with. And I understood that. He still gets the nightmares, but they aren't as bad these days. They tried something called transcranial magnetic stimulation and it did help. I don't know how far the V.A. has taken the therapy, but it was successful in helping my husband.

That statement he made of "they will never find me" really rings in my head. That makes me think of searching places that make the least amount of sense. That statement even makes me think he may have gone up to 100 miles from his home. Maybe he doesn't want to be found and just wants to rest in peace where ever he is. As much as I would like to see the family get closure and at least know what happened to him. Maybe this is a situation where his wish is respected and let him be where ever he is. I say that with the utmost respect for the family.

I've to say this again: Doug is right imho. He's right about his first feeling on this case. When spoke about the fact that he talked every single day with her sister and about the argument mentioned, all these clues lead us to a different direction than a suicide. I had this feeling too. In the first few minutes when Jared was reading us the police's report and when Jared asked Yvonne about the argument with his wife: her face said all. Of course we hope this is not the case. On the other side, there is also the fact that Yvonne said "in addition to all the problems he had, the tribulations, he was about to lose the other leg as well". I mean, this can be an huge factor: his life was no longer what it used to be (from big money to no money, etc), the marriage in pieces, the body no longer responds, unhappiness and depression(i know something about it). In short, there are many things that make you think in this case. I hope the fam will find a closure to this as soon as possible.

I'm from and still live in SW Missouri after serving in the Marine Corps, you may need to change your outlook on this one. Where exactly did he live in the area during his formative years as a teenager before he joined the Navy? That statement of I know a place 3 years before rings a bell to me, he liked viewing places and had likely all his live, he joined the Navy and saw away places. I can think of places that I saw when I was young that I could say the same thing about, that's your secret spot that you would know about from a much earlier age and would have thought about at the time of the perfect place to hide something for what you would think was forever. I knew of a few in the years back then that I could probably still make my way back to, just trying to show you the possible patterns of someone from the area, we talked about such things as kids in the time before today's connected to everyone world. If I were going to do it because I was about to lose my second leg and couldn't see my way around being able live at 59 with no legs, I would think back to something like that. I would consider that my special place and be my ace in the hole. Look further back for the possible answer in his life and where he lived in the past exactly. That might be the one he has held out from telling anyone outside of that time in his life.

Has anyone considered, just maybe, Donnie might have decided, to go see his one friend his sister mentioned? I think she said 45 minutes away. What if he just wanted to talk to someone? Sometimes, it's easier to talk to a non-family member. Maybe Donnie's and his wife's last fight, was all he could deal with and just needed to get away. Maybe, he thought he would just go crash on his friend's couch, clear his mind, and figure out what to do. On his way there, maybe, he had an accident. Maybe that's why he didn't say goodbye to his sister or anyone, because he just had an accident, instead of what he always threatened to do. Thinking of a different scenario might open up other avenues to search. Yvonne, I am so, so sorry for you going through this. I can't even imagine how it feels, knowing a close loved one is missing. An old friend of mine, currently, is missing. Noone knows anything. It is truly heartbreaking. Amazing work as ever guys. The possibility of suicide always makes it extra sad. I really hope this family can find their answers one day. Also, I liked the different way of introducing the story in this video. Being in the family's home built that connection straight away. Great camera and production work from 'Carson who we don't pay much attention to'!

So sad seeing veterans take their life. Especially when the sources are there to help (but they won’t). My brother went to his VA the day before he relapsed begging for help but they turned him away and he died at 0803 the next morning.

Amazing efforts to helping search for Mr. Erwin and it is always great to hear that the relationship with the family will continue into the future, and there are plans to continue the search. Also, thanks for spreading the word about about the 22 veterans that lose their battle everyday, we have friends local who host booths at all the local events to spread awareness about it as well.

awesome job everyone. its not easy searching places. so many obstacles. you all knocked out 14 locations. awesome job jacob! so proud of you and you deserved that rv! you do so much to help families aswell. i know hes out there somewhere. no one will ever truly understand what someone is going through until your in their shoes. depression is the worst feeling in the world. it eats away at your very core. destroying everything that makes you happy. you find it hard to reach out to people for help. so many people battle that everyday and so many turn to suicide. if anyone is feeling that way. Reach out to someone you love or trust. dont fight your battles alone. i pray he is found and the family can lay him to rest. you all came so far. from just diving down cleaning up the rivers snd lakes to removing cars and helping families find their loved ones when all everything was against them. your a beacon of love and hope, never give up this amazing movement!. im proud everyday being part of the family! i support you all 100%. if you haven't already subscribed to this amazing family dont hesitate. being part of this family helps other families find their loved ones. or atleast answers. its free to subscribe. if you want to help financially. you can donate. or be a member. which starts at $4.99. your help goes along way. love you all. from your friend jimmy carson.

Jared and Team... I cannot believe how professional you guys have become since you started to now... I have been watching Jared since the beginning when he was scouring the bottom of small ponds and various little bodies of water for things that shouldn't be there... you guys are absolutely amazing and touch my heart every time I watch a video... You guys also seem more at ease these days being that you've gotten used to working with these families and the loss of their loved ones... keep up the great work you're making your viewers proud... I have to give Josh and Carson props for the camera work as it is absolutely amazing! The fact that you found two wonderful young guys (and who could forget sweet Dan!!) that are serious and have great work ethic is unbelievable! Those two really make your vids look like a professional TV show! Great work guys!

@@Lucinda_Jackson I want to say CnC or something like that. The Casey's is directly across from the middle school turn off but I am not sure it was a Casey's then. This Caseys seems too new. It was an older station. When they put the New Road bypassing Camdenton. I didn't go down it as much unless I was going to see my Aunt before she passed. I will find out from Yvonne.

@@Lucinda_Jackson The station would have put him headed into Camdenton on Old north 5 Hwy. The station was just into Camdenton there is several little stations and a newer Caseys (now)He only had a 1/4 tank of gas supposedly. It's a quick trip from his house to station. We had a bit of winter weather with ice then snow the night before he vanished. My 1st thought was he got on a slick road and slid off. There is So many roads that he could have decided to drive around. I PRAY He Will be found. If it was my Family. I would leave no stone unturned. I mean his car and himself just disappeared. That car is somewhere. There will be Donnie more than likely. Because he just took his crutches and didn't put on his prosthetic leg. He was known at the station. Sometimes he would pull up and they brought his smokes out to him. He just didn't go there like they thought.

There is a 0lace in Lebanon called Bennet springs state park. I was just there Easter weekend to visit my dad. There are parts that are 85 foot deep so it's very possible that a car could be in there. I drove by it and it looks very easy to go into it. Since it's a state park I'm not sure if you would have permission but I've read that they have allowed divers in there
