Your videos are all awesom cap. I learn so much from them all. Keep up the good work. I would like to offer you one, very minor constructive criticism. If you simply paused for like 3 seconds between each point, it would make it tons easier to absorb the information you are presenting. You have an a good narration voice and it's easy to listen to, slight pauses would greatly lessen the need to pause the video to absorb the info. Awesome stuff.

Thanks for the vid Cap! I made my own but I dialed down the extreme to only 2000 and I was able to watch my Sabre fly so fast that you could see the wings twisting on the fly by camera!!!

At the end you mention flying backwards... I was in a helicopter that actually did this. We were flying over the hills from coastal Californian to the Kern valley to deliver a helicopter for crop dusting. As we began to crest, the wind seriously sped up. It was rushing from the land towards the sea at tremendous speed. I don't know the speed, but every time we rose up to try to get over the hills, the helicopter would lose ground. I thought it was the coolest thing, because I was a kid- and did not know how dangerous it was. More than one craft has crashed on those hillsides trying to get over. After each attempt, the pilot's knuckles would turn white on the yolk. Third time was our last, because he tried to rise even higher to get above the windstream- and it was just as fast higher up. We waited until early the next day when the winds still and then turn back the other way. It was easy to fly over them then. I had no idea how dangerous it was. Nor did I know the pilot had been in five crashes. (Crop dusting is really dangerous business.) This is the same guy who threw an M80 out a truck window and bounced it off the windwing frame- and into my lap.

Love the Mission Editor Tutes. If you want to make it very windy in one part of the Map then squeeze a Low (cyclone) between two Highs (Anti-Cyclones) to the North and the South of the Low - like propelling a lemon pip between your thumb and finger...... it's the differential that is important because the isobars (lines of equal pressure) get close together which equals wind. Thanks, Cap! Best, Pete. PS Yeah, well your example is more like weather on Jupiter....... I'm rather glad that you are not God.

This is just speculation, but I bet the reason they use x and z instead of x and y is because many programs export or import their models rotated 90 degrees by default, so on a global plane you're actually using the x and z axis because the world is tilted 90 degrees. It just looks like normal because everything uses the same geometric standard and the laws of relativity but if you looked at it in a modeling environment it would look like you're flying against a wall. Again, just speculation due to my experience with modeling programs and how things are sometimes coded.

Rotation would be which way the elipsis squashing would happen. You squash it one way, then rotate it. A high pressure cyclone and low pressure anticyclone will probably rotate the same way - as a double negative. Sonic booms should be a function of airspeed, which should be the same regardless of wind. Great watch though.

Interesting, what will happen if you accelerate using such cyclone, and gets to speeds, much exceeding maximum airplane speed, and then gets out of cyclone into standing (slow) air. In reality, plane should break a part. It should be like hitting a wall, or shuttle, entering earth atmosphere.

Is the static info actually irrelevant, or just irrelevant inside the cyclone I wonder? For example, if you had a wind of 20mph coming from the East, would that apply on the ground or wherever you indicate, except for areas inside the cyclone? That would be interesting to know... picture a shift from 20mph from the east to flying into a cyclone that has 150mph wind from the north or something. Pretty cool in any case.

And then somehow survive the arse and then land somewhere safe and damage minimal. But hey at least all the grounded raptors survived with the sacrifice of their tough arse hangar

I can move the low pressure systems from inside the editor, left click and hold above the centre of the base of the L and level with the middle of the vertical of the L and then drag it to move it, the click point must be tiny though because its easy to miss. Can't find one on the H to move those about so fairly useless information really.
