Sam is the right man for drilling holes to a boat 🙂

Härligt att du jobbar med din Viggen! Fin liten båt! Stora båtar =stora problem. Liten båt är kanske sämre komfort men mer frihet och mindre problem

From what I've found out, where the thermal break is, insulation, there will still be moisture at that point, your moving the dew point, so I think it's about controling where the moisture goes, a challenge on a smaller boat in the cold, a vent is a cool idea, but there are still 2 different pressures at work ✌️

It takes more than one vent to solve a condensation problem but that’s a good place to start.

I absolutely enjoyed your video as I do all of them!! Keep on sailing... 💞⛵⛵⛵

You should also make sure any screw holes are sealed well. I had problems with rain getting in my boat from the toe-rail

Yes! That’s on the list, I will go over the whole boat 🔬

I thought it might be a bad idea to drill the plexiglass in warmer weather to avoid any splintering of the glass. However, the hole looks great!

I mean I thought it might be better to wait for warmer weather to drill the hole. It looks frigid where you are. What is the temperature there? Cheers

Great video, but it just looks SO cold! Sam is used to Florida, its not natural for him to be so cold :)

Once the vent has been exposed to a few days of sunlight facilitating the internal battery to be charged, the vent fan should continue operating through the dark night hours. The only catch might be your northern latitude’s short winter days and low sun angle. I noted on the box that they stated a maximum charging current. I suppose they are insinuating that it can be charged with an external power supply. I’m sure Sam is familiar with the Solar Vent sold in America. Your vent is very similar in design and likely just as robust. I’ve had one in service over 20 years and during that time requiring only one battery change.

That Biltema vent is really no good. I bought two last year for my Albin Express. But it runs out of power after a short time, and when it does, you have to manually start it after charging the empty battery. In winter it does not charge enough to make it run for more than a few minutes. Also, the vent have no ways of closing if you have a lot of waterspray from the sea.

Nah, Sam would steal a silk sheet and sail away on anything, maybe with blue tape on it? 🤣😂⛵⛵⛵

I don't understand why you are going to buy insulation when your boat doesn't have a heating system. It would be useful if you wanted to keep the heat on the inside of your boat, but without a heating system what heat are you keeping inside with the insulation, surely the inside and outside of your boat will always be the same temperature regardless of how much or little insulation you have. I'm confused...
