Yeah, supposedly it's not gonna be called part 2 anymore but it'll have an as yet not revealed subtitle. Dead reckoning part one was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it, I got it on blu ray this week, and I watched it three times in a row. The film definitely doesn't end in a cliffhanger but it certainly sets up part 2 or whatever it's being called now. My guess would be part 2 could involve another major death, Benji or even maybe luther. They've said plan on possibly continuing the franchise after the 8th film, so I don't know if that'll be with all new actors of if Tim cruise might be involved. There's a film on his imdb page that right now is just listed as Tom cruise SpaceX film, but it could easily be reformatted so that it's a mission impossible film partially shot in space. I thoroughly enjoyed dead reckoning though, and mission impossible has definitely aged very well, since 1996, when the original came out and each film has gotten better, Gabriel so far to me is my favorite of the mission impossible villains, he was awesome and a little bit more personal of a villain, than we've seen before.

Watched it on opening night with my friend, it was like an 8pm showtime and the movie is nearly 3hr long so we didn’t get home until late, it took SEVERAL hours for the adrenaline to come down. Excellent excellent action movie and M:I installment.

The derailed train falling off the edge of the cliff slowly one car at a time while Tom CruiseEthan Hunt has to climb up each car and jump to the next car is one of the funniest and most intense scenes of any action movie I’ve ever seen!

The cool thing about this fight is that it's different than every other in the franchise. Ethan has always fought when he's needed to in order to complete the mission and generally has to go through someone to retrieve something or fight simply because he can't get away. Here, his mission is to retrieve the key and capture Gabriel if possible. The fact that he can't kill him is still clear in Ethan's mind at 0:27 when he, almost reflexively, saves Gabriel from the collision. It's not until 3:15 onwards when he's looking Gabriel in the eye with his life in his hands and Gabriel (knowing full well what he is doing) smiles and smirks through his dialogue. This is actually the closest we've seen to Ethan failing due to his own personal involvement in the mission.

@@SolCresta3405 My guess is that Gabriel wanted to SEE Ethan suffer, not just have the guarantee that he will. His selfishness is basically what caused him and the entity to lose on that train (Ethan getting the key and not being able to kill Gabriel soon enough) and I kinda like that.

The *only* unfortunate thing is that at this point, they're all basically superheroes who cannot fly, shoot lasers from their eyes, or perform triple backflips before landing in the token superhero landing pose. It's all quite amazing, but logic, physics, reason, and realism--even the "movie style" kind--are all one box car short. But, yes, yes, yes... it's all very action-ish. Definitely a lot of CGI and graphics, no doubt.

The only problem i had with this scene mainly cause i work on railway so bit sad when the steam train approached the bridge just before it exploded it sounded its horn which can only be activated by driver pulling the cord and there was no driver also steam trains when the emergency brake is pulled this is also controlled by the driver unlike modern trains on a steam train the driver would put the train engine into reverse so the brakes coming on automatically without a driver to activated them would not happen great scene and one of the best films in last few years but you would think the producers would at least do a bit of research on how a steam train functions

That last clip was brilliant, it was like a parody of an existential crisis on the Trump train as the forces of darkness and disorder sought to undo all of the good work that 45 has done, it's a movie plot worthy of consideration, even going as far as digging up all the remaining Monty Python crew and giving them their first serious role in the modern fillumm genre... Yes, I'm drunk, almost completely shitfaced, this could also be a subplot in the movie🙂

I believed you tube when they said it was the full final scene of the movie. The train scene in the chunnel was better because the lines between good and evil were much more clearly drawn when he said red light green light, because the jump from the helicopter to the train was a much better stunt and because of the playing of the mission impossible theme
