I would like to comment on the editing that is done with every video they do, especially videos like this one and Daft Punk, for example. This part of Pentatonix is seldom mentioned, but it enhances their great talent that much more. I remember when "The Wizard of Oz" first came on TV, in black and white. I think it was five years before the show got its color. I think I was 12 before I saw a color Tv. We weren't rich, and you had to be to own a color TV back then. This really brings back memories for me, and at the same time, I am so amazed how they brought it to the2000 era! I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm not done yet watching your past reactions, but I am steady trying to catch up to you, and really looking forward to your future episodes. Thank you:)

If you want fun ones, you should react to "Sing" and "Can't Hold Us". Those are both upbeat and just fun to listen to. If you are a "Game of Thrones" fan, Masie Williams (Arya Stark) makes a quick cameo in "Sing". If you want an Avi Kaplan solo, you should check out Avi's channel and react to "Change on the Rise".

They did do Jolene with Dolly Parton, and won theor third Grammy for that, but I don't think they have anything else with Toderick Hall at the moment. I really think you should do Imagine and 90s Dance Medley.

Very happy you are feeling better, we all missed your PTX reactions while you were gone. My suggestion for another PTX video that is a little bit different but fun would be their cover of "Come Along" a song by Cosmo Sheldrake. It's a song about a fantasy world where everything is safe and perfect, kinda gives me an "Alice in Wonderland" feel. Glad to heve you back and waiting for your next PTX reaction.

Welcome back. Definitely been missing you reacting to Pentatonix. Glad you are feeling better. Pentatonix learned how to make seamless arrangements and remixes on the SingOff, even though they seemed to think it was not their best work. But they have perfected moving from one song to another without sounding choppy, and in my opinion are one of the best at it. I'd suggest their medley of "Home," which with songs about home is a quarantine hit. Another medley that you'd find interesting in the acapella world is Home Free's "Butts Remix" where a group of very talented men (also from SingOff fame) show their appreciation for the curvier side of women with a delightful sense of humor. Home Free also does a wonderful cover of "All About That Bass" that I think you'd enjoy. However, back to Pentatonix, if you haven't reacted to yet to "Say Something," then yes please.

I believe this is the greatest music video of all time!! Todrick grew up with Scott, Mitch & Kirstie in Arlington, Texas (he was a couple of years older than them), and he had been looking for a project to work on with them for a while. The Wizard of Oz is his favorite movie, so he came up with this medley, worked out all the arrangements, chose all the songs and produced/directed the video. Todrick, Scott, Mitch & Avi all were quoted at the time saying how much they loved working on this project because it was the first time that Kirstie actually got a chance to be out front and center in a PTX video...and she knocked it out of the park!! If you watch closely on the closing shot, just before Kirstie clicks her heels, you can see Scott giving her a loving "proud big brother" glance! It's too bad that it would take several more years for her to come completely out of her shell as she has now...she's kicking butt and taking names these days! Todrick did a video with Kirstie, Scott & Mitch called Black And White that's also really good. He also did a Pentatonix spoof called Pentatodrix that's hilarious and he portrays all five members in the video (his impersonation of Mitch is one of the funniest things ever). Scott & Mitch also did a hilarious reaction to that video on the Superfruit channel.

Megan, the other day Dimash posted the music video for Golden which is like a mini movie of action and adventure. Then yesterday, on the anniversary in 1959 when an airplane went down and some music stars passed away so Home Free posted a video of American Pie as a reminder of hat tragedy.

You did realize that PTX didn't create the song arrangement, but this was all Todrick, right? They just sang it and acted in the video. This is Todrick's specialty. And he's obsessed with Disney. He has a video that is also Wizard of Oz related called "LOW" I think you'll love. He did a very viral popular video called "Beyonce 4". It's a mashup of her songs. It got so big that he created a whole list of "4" type videos for other artists and then decades of music. He did a few Beyonce music ft. videos like "Grown Woman" where he used Disney Princesses as the inspiration. There's also "Cinderonce'" and another popular one is "Cell block Tango" from the Chicago movie. That is really good too. Have you ever watched the very first original song by PTX called "Love Again"? It was done the same year as the Daft Punk medley, so it has the same edm vibe. When Kevin does that first bass drop, I lost my mind. I couldn't believe how hard the song got at that point. Mitch's voice is heaven in this song, to me. It's definitely worthy of a dance playlist.

How about some PTX original music. Rather Be and Sing are both fun and uptempo. RunTo You is a slow ballad and Love Again defies description but Mitch, Kevin and Avi go crazy on that one. If you want to check out Superfruit (Scott and Mitch) then they do a Frozen medley with Kirstin and the two of them do Defying Gravity from Wicked and also Guy.exe which is a lot of fun. Todrick wrote this and produced this whole thing with help i'm sure but he is so talented. This was great that Pentatonix agreed to do this with him. It is a masterpiece.

Videos just don't get any better than this. And you are right, this is incredibly innovative. It is actually Todrick Hall's idea and creation, but always with the intent of featuring PTX, making it a true collaboration in every sense of the word. Loved your stunned reaction. It was perfect!

I have to watch this at least once a month. I noticed that they used the songs about home again in their video 'Home'.

Love this, love todrick and ptx too. You should definitely head over to Mitch and Scott’s channel/side project superfruit for some fun! Frozen medley is fantastic. Their are so many fun videos, official videos from their albums and amazing in studio performances always with a twist and usually with bloopers. It definitely shows who they are. Also from ptx, all of their evolution of.... videos over the years are excellent and all of the above should have issues being blocked.....oh and I’m sure everyone has been screaming at you to do Aha! Live in Singapore....I always recommend with that one that you do the official video then live because it helps you to hear what is going on in the live better, plus the official video is so different than what they normally do. There are so many more but I’ll stop at the dozen I just recommended. I hope you continue down the rabbit hole! They are obviously crazy talented, but they also get so much love for who they are as people to which comes out more in the live stuff and on their side channels, like you saw with kevin’s solo video.

Kirsty singing out of the side of her mouth like that always sends vocal coaches into conniption fits. In the latter videos you notice it less and less, and finally, you don't see it anymore. It's a habit she's worked hard to break... and with good reason.

I love it when artists use unrelated songs like that to build a story (the musical “We Will Rock You” using all Queen music or the movie “Across the Universe” using The Beatles music). Hats off to Todrick for putting this together and picking the best collaborators. Kirsty is perfect for this, well... they all are. 🥰🤗

Todrick is so amazingly talented. I would love to live a day in his head with all of his creativity and ideas floating around. His "Straight Outta Oz" is based on The Wizard of Oz and is semi-autobiographical telling of this career in LA. It includes many collaborations, including Kirstie, Mitch and Scott as people have said below. Beyond that there is a song with Nicole Scherzinger, Wayne Brady as his dad in one of the videos, a video/song with Bob the Drag Queen, a video with Joseph Gordon Levitt who is the wizard, etc. Todrick wrote the songs and basically came up with everything in the hour-longish video. He then did a national tour with the show. There is a "making of" video of how he made the production happen that just really blows you away with how much work/effort he put into the project and highlights how amazingly talented he is. I get "Black and White" with Kirstie, Mitch and Scott, stuck in my head every time I hear it. I would love you to review "Black and White" but the entire production broken up would be great too. They all grew up in Texas (Kirstie, Mitch and Scott in Arlington and Todrick in Plainview) and knew each other but he was a few years ahead of them in school. He does a really funny parody of PTX also and there is a video of SuperFruit (Mitch and Scott) reacting to it that is great. There is so much left to explore and react to and you have a very loyal group of Pentaholics who will go with you on your journey!

As several have mentioned, if you're looking for a "fun" video, "Sing", "Can't Hold Us", "Rather Be", and "Come Along" would definitely fill the bill. If you're looking for medleys, any of their "Evolution of..." videos are just what the doctor ordered. They've done these medleys for Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, and for Music itself! They're also excellent at putting together mashups of two songs. "La, La, Latch", "New Rules x Are You That Somebody" are both killer examples of that genre. My favorite mashup is "Despacito x Shape of You", but there's no video for it, so you'd have to either go with audio only, or one of the fan cellphone videos of a live concert performance.

They did most of the home themed songs on their EP Home that they did this past summer. It helped us Pentaholics get through the pandemic this past summer. They did it all from their homes separately and even did videos separately.

Todrick has so many good videos... Medleys, mashups, parodies, originals of various types... He has two cool visual albums that can be watched as movies... I'd recommend watching them, but you might find them to be too long to react to in one go. Straight Outta Oz kinda loosely tells Todrick's life story while also making parallels with The Wizard of Oz (some are recommending Black And White from that album, which you can watch alone, but it might be a little better to see in context). Forbidden, the second album, tells the story of a straight couple in a flipped version of America where black homosexuals are the majority and the couple are freaks kinda. But if you want something smaller and enjoyed this, you may appreciate his similar projects based on Disney films. Britney and the Beast, Cinderonce and Peter Perry I think... Each retells the stories using songs by a specific artist... Maybe you can guess by the titles.

Todrick is a genius talent; most of his videos are based on childhood memories of movies. e.g.: Wizard of Oz (Low, Wizard of Ahhs, Straight Outta Oz, Green, Black and White [Feat Superfruit])). But he also does Beauty and the Beat and now The Greatest Showman. If you want to cover some great entertainment visually and musically you won't go wrong with Todrick.

There were a LOT of us who thought Kirstie's side smile/side mouth singing was very cute and endearing...but apparently it caused her a lot of problems with her self-esteem, especially when some professional vocal coaches were criticizing it, saying it caused problems with her singing style. I've heard a rumor that it was the result of a birth defect, and a surgical procedure to correct this as a child was somewhat unsuccessful, leaving her with nerve damage in her face, but I've heard others say that rumor isn't true...so I actually don't know what the real story is. She worked really hard to overcome it, and apparently even had some plastic surgery to try and correct it. Either way, she doesn't do it now nearly as much as she used to (although she still does sometimes). One thing's for sure, her self-confidence has risen thru the roof recently as she is really starting to take the lead WAY more often than she used to! She has really started to take over the group as more of a leader, and it's really wonderful to see. You might say that her stint on Broadway has really unleashed the superstar that was always hidden inside her!!

Go back and try to just listen to the background support vocals. Most people are concentrating on visuals and song selection and miss that it’s all a cappella. That they are overlooked says a lot about how good the arrangement is.

Just thought of another comment on a different subject. I've noticed for a while that your reaction videos for "Hallelujah" and "Daft Punk" has been removed from your channel for some time now. I've seen that happen to several other reactors and they all talk about "Copy Rights" and "Fair Trade", and an arbitration/dispute process and sometimes the videos come back. I don't know if you are familiar with the legal detail and the process but I thought I would let you know that I discovered a little video posted on "The Charismatic Voice" channel tittle "Copyright Q & A: Fair Use, Blocked Videos, Ads and the You Tube Dispute Process". The person posting the video is not an attorney and neither am I (but she has been through the process many times and has a lot of experience). I've watched the video and found it very informative. If you're not familiar with the legalities of this process this would give you a great starting point. I would love to see the missing videos return to your channel, especially your original reaction video to the PTX Official Video of "Hallelujah". Take care and good luck.

Why did you keep giving PTX credit for the creativity here. You kept talking as if this was their brainchild. This is Todrick Hall's project and his baby. Yes, there was some collaboration but as the tag line for the video says it's Todrick Hall's production FEATURING Pentatonix.
