For people who do not know, Ghanaians call Mackerel Salmon.....🤷🏾‍♀️ You did a good job. I have a tip for you. To bring out the best in the groundnut paste; where you added water to the paste, you can transfer it to a small pan an slowly bring it to the boil. Once you see the oils coming to the top it is ready to be added to the meat. If you like vegetables you can add garden eggs and okra with the top and tail cut off near the end of cooking time until they are cooked through.♥️

Hi Trudy, glad that you're learning to cook Ghanaian food. Have you heard of Sweet Adjeley? She's a Ghanaian food blogger and cooks the most beautiful Ghanian food. I think after Wode Maya she's the next highest blogger. I'm Kenyan too but I've learnt to cook a lot of foods from her channel.

In New Orleans Louisiana where I'm from we throw all different types of meats and seafood in a dish called Gumbo (which is also the African word for okra) I heard. Maybe our ancestors in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, all the way to California is from Ghana originally. Because the Slave ships came to New Orleans Louisiana from somewhere in Africa and it might be Ghana and Gumbo might be a sign of it!

About the mixed meat, it depends on each family. In Ghana, my family mostly use one kind of protein in a soup or dish. When it comes to certain sauces, we mix them, but not all dishes. 😊🥰

You did a great job, sometimes l add garden eggs and okra in my peanut soup, and l cook almost all Ghanaian foods although am from Malawi 🇲🇼 , because of my partner, and mixing food lt was not too strange for me, because when l was a kid l used to mix sometimes when l am cooking and they used to say l am strange, and l didn't know that other parts of the world they mix their food when they are cooking, and sometimes l mix sometimes l don't, as l want the kids to explore all cultural food.
