My church is in Hendersonville, so I looked up what the date for the next library board meeting. Ironically, it was scheduled for March the 8th, the same day this podcast came out. It was canceled and rescheduled for March 15th. It also had on the agenda under new business "The Kirk Cameron" event to be discussed. There is a large presence of christians in this area as well as some wonderful people, however we must have our voices heard as well.

Thank you for sharing this info! I have lived in Hendersonville for the last 27 years and that library was a sanctuary for my niece as a teen and she continued to volunteer after she graduated. I am so mad and disgusted by the display of ignorance, hatred and intolerance of conservative values. I hope all those involved lose their jobs.

People should know the rules for activity at public libraries. My guess is they will go after the promos being filmed in the library. The people behind the desk acted like children and should have stated whether they had an issue.

@@Darren4032 Though they're called public libraries, they are not open platforms. Any group that wants to use the library for an event needs to ask permission from the library to use their time and space. Whether or not the library accepts is contingent upon the type of event the organization wants to hold, and whether it is in agreement with that libraries policy for renting the use of its facilities. Some libraries may exclude the use of their facilities for procetilization, while others may not. So it is a good idea to check first.

It is so heartbreaking! That's why we found a good church that our kids love to go to and we started home schooling our oldest when she turned 4. We use Abeka, which is a subsidiary of Pensacola Christian Academy/Pensacola Christian College. My daughter is 4 and is always talking about how she wants Jesus in her heart and she talks about the Bible stories she learned about each day and I catch her praying by the window. It's so heart warming! I will raise my children up the traditional way! ❤

A library in our area designated a section in the Children’s library to LGBQT books which were graphic in nature. After public outcry over this, funding was cut off to this library and the librarian who was clearly responsible for this was on tv begging to keep the funding. She tried to say other programs would be canceled if funding was cut, but it was too late. The public has spoken. Last time I checked, our taxes still funded the library.

If she was a plant she would be a four leaf clover, its that rare! Out of 100 employees only two are conservative. And we are a red state! They are everywhere! And many of them are older, which is shocking to me. How did someone reach their 50s and 60s, have grandkids, and be in favor of drag queens around kids???? Dont assume. I am a single mom. I got divorced when my kids were 5 and 10. At the time of my divorce, I heard Dr. Phil discussing the statistics about children of single moms being 20 times more likely to be physically and sexually abused. I made the decision right then that I was going to remain single. My mother and sister were the only people who babysat my kids for me. I decided that my kids only had one childhood and their memories were not going to be of their mom dating men and bringing them into their lives. On that day, I dedicated my whole life to making sure they had the best childhood I could give them and more importantly they were going to know and love the God who gave me the strength to walk through the this mean world. They are now 17 and 23. I have zero regrets. They had a fantastic childhood and grew into amazing young adults who know and love God. My brother-in-law and brothers were role models of what fathers and men should be. My heart breaks for this country. Especially the pandemic of broken marriages and single mothers we are now seeing. The love of God taught me that in those broken places we need to cling to and protect our children like God protects us.

I’m a local resident. But I was out of town and missed this event. They had a substitute location of a local church when the library at first reneged. They should’ve kept it at the church and everyone would have been able to get in. Ridiculous that moms and small children had to stand in the rain outside.and ge behavior of the staff was equally ridiculous. This is a largely Christian community - even our local leaders and legislators- so for them to have a problem with using the library, which is open to the entire community and the public , is outrageous!

The library staff was very rude to our family while we were trying to figure out if Kirk was going to come back outside to at least see the rest of us who got there for the last reading. All in all, we ended up standing outside in the cold for about 45 mins before we finally got to take a very rushed picture and get an autograph. One strategy I've implemented has been to make parents aware of the books their kids are being exposed to. However, another is to counter these books with alternative options (establishing a 501c3). I've tried submitting 10 already - all were rejected by the district librarians and "progressive" parents at the same time they tried publicly shaming me for being a "book banner" & challenging me to add rather than subtract books.

I am NOT surprised as a person that has lived in Nashville, TN for over 30 years. It is not a good or safe place to be. It is rather scary and filled with crime. We have actually gotten used to hearing gunfire...and it's not hunting animals, it's criminals. People seem to not get it when they visit here. They think it's a wholesome place that is safe to walk the streets in, far from it. It is a worldly place. There are good, wonderful, and godly people living here just like most places. They called an uber. They dropped us off in the middle of downtown Nashville. It was the most obnoxious, nasty and loud things I have experienced. There was pee and puke everywhere. It was wall to wall people. We have been many times. Shopping, eating and listening to music. It has become embarrassing. It's so sad.

This was an isolated incident and it has been dealt with. I live in Hendersonville and I can go to Walgreens at 3 am and feel no fear. No one is on the road, there are police out and nothing ever happens to make me feel fearful. We will continue to hope that people who are moving here in droves vote correctly so we can keep it this way and we don't have to move to White House or some other rural area. Nashville has been taken over by Californians.

I had friends who cared for twins and planned to adopt them. For 2 yrs they had them and the court gave them back to their mother. Is the early 70s. They were in my Sunday school class. Later in my public school classroom I saw them living with their grandmother with no idea where their mother was. I hope things are better and safer in these times.

For all of you considering adoption of an infant: Please, please, please consult a professional in child development. Adopted children generally have problems with attachments. These troubles can be overcome if proper counselling is implemented. Loss of their primary caregiver (mother figure usually)can be a VERY traumatic occasion for a little one with limited coping skills. FYI...Edgar Allen Poe was adopted...

It should break our hearts as Christians. This is this generation. We shouldnt be surprised though we are told how people are going to get closer to the Lord's return. Its almost as if churches are going to need to train on how to deal with it. The falling away will happen, how are we as believers to respond without giving up.

The cost of housing is so high and my sister struggles to cover everything as it is without us. Our situation is getting very difficult since Social Security limits me what I can do about housing. I don't want to be homeless with the physical limits I have. We're all Christians but I struggle with people not coming forward to help that should. Right now we're in Jackson, MS.

Sadly, Hendersonville is one of the most expensive areas of Tennessee. We have lived here 25 years and could not afford to move here now. My daughter is getting married and we are concerned she will never be able to live here. It would be better for you to look at White House or Bethpage, or some rural counties near here. The neighborhood behind us used to start at $300K, now the houses are $600K within a couple of years. Even tiny houses go for $200K now.

Please come to Gwinnett county library system in Georgia! We have used the public library systems extensively with our children for 15 plus years, and I have never seen a turnover of materials like I have in the last 2 years here. Up to 30-40% of the children’s and teen’s books have been replaced with “agenda” materials - gender confusion books, occultish books, books that call western values into question, books with sexual content. This is not a grassroots movement of the people or for the people. I am convinced there are well-funded, powerful organizations behind this movement that operate much like religious cults. They have intentionally targeted the schools and the library systems. We need God to intervene and we also need people on the front lines standing against this.

Am I the only one not surprised about her library experience? Nashville is very liberal!! It's bound to have affected it's surrounding towns. We made the mistake a couple years back to go on vacation to Nashville in June, didn't realize it was gay pride month. Gay pride flags, drag queens, a huge LGBTQ parade, etc EVERYWHERE!! The rainbow flags out on almost every cafe, bookstore, and coffee shops was an eye opener to how liberal Nashville is. At least to me.

Not our town! Hendersonville is still a bastian of Conservatism and we plan to keep it that way. That's why this library incident is so shocking to all of our residents, especially those of us FROM here (like my husband and me). We are being taken over by out of towners here but for the most part, they've moved here to escape leftist policies. There are no gay pride flags in Hendersonville, I assure you (on businesses). Franklin, yes. Some parts of Nashville, yes, but not Hendersonville. Our library has been a lovely place to be, this is out of character for the staff and we cannot understand it.
