Lubrication and coolant is required for my CNC when cutting aluminum, without it the end mill clogs up immediately. Spraying chips around is NOT COOL so I've come up with this contraption. After a year of iterations on design I'm finally happy with it.

That's a really nice installation! Thanks for the rundown. So often I see clogging and chip-welding problems on KZfaq that are the result of the aluminium itself. The flat-bar material sold from hardware stores is formulated for easy extrusion... definitely not for machining! I would have thought the plate you are using would machine much better than the extruded stuff, using only air-blast. Coolant/lube is great, but it would be nice if you did not need to rely on it when your machine has absorbent materials in the structure. (Paint?) Personally I am a fan of single-flute cutters in aluminium, although I note that some informed people do not share my enthusiasm! 🥴

Thank you! This is actually the worst aluminum I've ever seen, I could barely drill the holes on the edges to screw it down as it was very gummy. But lubrication does magic and it machined just fine. I only use milliliters of coolant and it's food safe. Used to worry about the wooden bottom but it's a non-issue.
