This hack seems to work with the MiSTer's version of Donkey Kong. You just need to recompile with the modified files.
Instructions and files to compile a working Pauline edition of Donkey Kong.

Utility for injecting boot.rom into RBF file.
Useful to make a core with alternative boot ROM.
In command prompt type:
injector.exe core.rbf boot.rom my_new_core.rbf

Background:
Mike Mika created the "Donkey Kong Pauline Edition" for the original Nintendo Entertainment System so that his three-year-old daughter could play the game as Pauline instead of Mario

warham s I don’t think DK2 is compatible with the MiSTer DK rbf.
