This is exciting. The more people can get into the Mister platform at a lower cost the better it will ultimately be for the community, and hopefully also for your channel! 😉 I just hope that there will be a handheld version capable of playing PS1, N64 & Saturn cores!

I am so looking forward to the handheld version of this. In particular, having a portable FPGA Saturn with an AMOLED screen sounds amazing and then add all of the other platforms and it is a day 1 buy for me as long as it doesn't have some glaring issue.

I dont need a second MiSTer, but I'm getting one anyway.

The cart reading console is going to be a great product! A replacement for Analogue out of stock consoles was absolutely necessary.

I wish they would allow the connection of a physical hard drive for booting instead of micro SD.

6 face buttons, with the first four in a diamond-shape arrangement so you can play with said four like you're playing with SNES/PSX-style face buttons if you to, and add the extra two face buttons for systems that would require them and place them next to the first four to where you'd only need to move your thumb a little past the first four buttons to reach them. As for shoulder buttons, four would make it suitable for PSX and pretty much anything else I can think of that most people would play on the MiSTer. Dual analog sticks would be nice, but I'd be fine with sliders if they're HAL-effect sliders like what you'd see in a device like the Retroid Pocket Flip, as those are surprisingly decent to use (going by my personal experience). Sliders also have the benefit of being low-profile too, if such a feature would better compliment whatever device you're designing. As for the D-pad, I'm not too picky when it comes to either the traditional cross-shaped D-pad or a shield-type D-pad just as long as it feels good/responsive, although if you're gonna go with either option I'd personally take notes from how 8BitDo engineers their controllers' D-pads. All this is my ideal layout for what I'd like to see on this MiSTer clone handheld. Nothing super crazy or complex, just something that will allow users to play everything up to Dual-Analog PSX/N64/Saturn games if they so desired, and comfortably based on the device's form factor. If nothing else, I pray the handheld will have better ergonomics than the Analogue Pocket and can give us the option to just connect whatever controllers to it we want if the device's own layout won't cut it for people in certain use cases. Although thinking about it now, if this clone board even in handheld form manages to take off I could see some people designing their own unique handheld shells to stick the clone board into, and provide D.I.Y. alternatives to whatever the official handheld being sold is. I saw it happen quite a bit with the Raspberry Pi PCs, so it really wouldn't surprise me to see people make custom cases for the clone DE-10 Nano if you want to make your handheld look more like a DMG Gameboy or any other random form factor you could think of.

I've been wanting to do a Mister but its hard to put in even $500 when I have a PC and GPU capable of doing almost everything up to PS3/360/OGXBOX. I do have the Analouge Pocket and dock and I love it. N64 FPGA would be awesome. I do wonder if they could integrate a Raspberry Pi to handle higher end systems and pipe it through the built-in HDMI scaler?

I’m really curious about the hdmi and vga in. The ossc pro uses the same fpga as the de10 nano I believe. Mister when you want it to be and a scaler for your other consoles could be helpful depending on setup.

What about arcade cores and putting one in a cabinet (guess you would need the mistercade jamma) but still would be less than many original pcbs

I'd be interested in getting one as a spare. And, I don't have one you can connect direct to a CRT.

So I don’t have a mister yet. I only have an analogue pocket. Will this run all of the cores that run on the regular mister and provide cores for n64 for example?

This is incredible! At these prices I will probably be able to justify one. Also love there is both component and composite video out as no tv here has scart and I won't mod a tube tv any time soon...

Taking a stab on the brightness control, perhaps it has an HDR option like on the RT4K to avoid generated scan lines dimming the image, and the brightness controls the level of this?

I wouldn't mind this over my normal one, I like the addition of the USB-C and 2 normal USB. I'm sure that would mean needing a new case, i/o board and USB hub board.

I'm hoping it's a Genesis for the sole reason being that I was never able to get a MegaST.

I'd love to have N64 and Saturn compatibility but oh well... it is what it is. Hope for a more streamlined design because I was never much of a fan of what a stacked MiSTer (or Raspberry Pi even for comparisons sake) look like when cables come out of every side like some Akira style mutation. Hope for worldwide shipping too as I'm living in Europe and taxes are included in euros.
