It is a great stadium on the River - but please the area around it is post industrial, low end commercial and industrial land. Hopefully it will be a catalyst to regenerate the area.

Bill: I'm afraid to say that it's been mentioned most weeks and the answer remains the same. It's a romantic idea only, not a financially-successful one. But, never say never to the financials changing in the future as a result of PEEL's development plans or huge changes in the surrounds that would increase demand beyond match days, major events and the trickle of Wirral visitors to BMD on non-match days.

If there's a gap in the market, it should be filled by a Transport Company and definitely not by Everton FC.

You know it my old kopite mate. If only everyone else had the same opinion. It's a beautiful looking stadium, and will become a concert and events arena, and it's proximity to the city centre also adds to its attraction. 100 years from now, it will still look modern.

Peter: the Water Channel will not be navigable. It will have pipes that connect the water to the docks but that's as far as it goes. Think of it being more like a park pond than anything else. Yes, I reckon the bookies probably already have a book open for the first BMD Water Channel dive, voluntary and involuntary jumps, falls and dunks, plus the first hospitalisation for ingesting something they shouldn't. As a footnote, the excess rainwater from the harvesting system and all of the site groundwater will exit into the Water Channel, which is part of the reason for the piping with the adjacent docks.

Finally something I can talk to David about something I know about! Certainly looked like a peregrine but impossible to sex it in that clip. I've seen peregrines in a few of Nicks videos. There's evidence that these magnificent falcons nest in stadia. I went to a pre season friendly at stadium MK a few years ago and there was a peregrine nest inside the roof structure. I wonder if Everton will encourage a resident pair for free pigeon control?

I stated "male" as they're smaller than the female (it looked to be smaller) and the male will roam further away from the nest site than the female and can often go AWOL for periods. If it was a Peregrine, I assume it's from the nest sites at the Anglican Cathedral or other. It wasn't a convinced observation, rather more a probable observation, so I'm happy to be proven wrong. If I were a noble Peregrine, I doubt I'd be happy with nesting in BMD's trusses when the matches at the end of the season would have off-the-chart decibels of noise kept in. It's interesting to learn what you have to say about MK but I'm not sure that the future BMD Management would be happy with all the mess that the Peregrines create around the nest and below. I'm sure that they would be more than happy for Peregrines to be occasional visitors to keep the Flying Rats away.

Good spot, David. I'm just wondering what size screen you use to watch these videos because I never would have seen that without you pointing it out. I always watch Nick's vids on my laptop which just has a normal'ish sized laptop screen. Maybe I need to start casting to my big screen TV. Having said that, even if I would have spotted the bird I would assumed it to be a seagull or pigeon 🙄

Good morning, Derek. The rainwater landing on the E-to-W Standing-Seam roof collects in the East and West gullies that run along the gap between the Standing-seam roof and the top of the Barrel-cladding before going to downpipes in the concrete roof and main walls. The rainwater falling on the concrete rooves will merely migrate to sinks near the backside of the castellations of the Brick Facade and join the downpipes that at times one could see, particularly when the Service Towers were removed, exposing them in the gaps behind where the brick facades were then installed. From there the pipes take the water to harvesting tanks situated under the East Plaza, between the Pump House and the Home GA fans' entrances near the ENE corner. If those tanks are full, then the excess will run in pipes back under the stadium to exit into the future Water Channel, which will be connected to the adjacent docks by pipes under the Isolation Bridges.

They're for Lighting and Everton Banners on the plans and Club Videos. Perhaps some security cameras too?

Hi, Glyn. It relates to the 'demand' for the particular lounge or satellite Kitchen space below. Each scaffold-like tower mounted on the concrete rooves, has either one or two ducts mounted and the rhombic mesh-like sections reflect the number of ducts behind. The West Stand will probably mess with your head more than the East Stand, as the West Stand is the main Hospitality Stand and has many more ducts to contend with. The ducts have to rise in between the main roof trusses, so they do roughly maintain a mid truss pattern and they are all situated in the vertical-middle of the barrel-cladding so that they are located at the outermost edge. The asymmetrical pattern will be discussed at length from these videos, no doubt, especially as it was an artistic licence detail to have left them out of the original public release video and images.

All seats will likely be Blue, a Sponsor may pay big money to have their emblem put in, in white, but the current plan is Blue seats, the original plan did have Everton and 1878 but that has changed since.

I 'get' your image but the building would not be able to overshoot the boundaries at ground level. To have been completely oval the stadium would have had to be much smaller, N-S, or oriented E-W rather than N-S.

The war in Ukraine probably the biggest hurdle as all the money disappeared

Parking will be an issue. The club hope that most fans will use public transport or walk from the city centre 😬 They’re working with Liverpool City Council, Sefton Council and the Metro Mayor to increase and improve transport links.

Peter: "design flaw" is a bit strong. I guess you prefer symmetry to all else. You must go through hell with the windows in your house, which are probably not all identical in size and are different according to the type of room it's in. Opinions will be divided, ranging from those who object to those mesh panels being there at all to those, like me, that now sees them as portholes in the Stealth Ship. The mesh-like panels reflect what goes on behind. If there is only one Air Vent behind in the duct tower rather than the max of two, then it doesn't need a bigger mesh section.

​@davidbadcock2225 - they Play with my OCD too, some more symmetry would have been better, or just to run the vents under the barrel cladding, and failing that, have the pattern in a Prince Ruperts Tower or EFC etc.

Good Morning, Jay. Yes, artistic licence left out these details from the images and videos from the original presentations. The rhombic 'portholes', which are highly perforated, or mesh-like, are situated in front of the Air Exhaust ducts and grilles that are mounted in the scaffold-like towers on the East and West Stand concrete rooves. They carry out the air-exchange for the Hospitality Lounges and the Satellite Kitchens. The East Stand has relatively few such areas, whereas the West Stand, being the Main Stand, has numerous such lounges and kitchens, so it has many more ducts. Some of the ducts are twins and some are singles, so there is a slight difference in the size of some of the mesh-sections. The ducts and therefore the 'portholes' have to be located in between the main West/East Stand Roof trusses and they basically take the shortest route up vertically from their other end in the lounges/kitchens. They are at least all at the same height, making for a line along the middle and, therefore, outermost face of the barrel-cladding. You'll not be alone in discussing the asymmetries and OCD-consequences of this layout.

They started on that a while ago. It is the same as the barrel cladding but just in smaller square pieces.

Good Morning, C. I don't know when they will do so ( I HAD guessed they might do it before finishing the tree pits closest to them but that appears to be a wrong assumption now). However, I can tell you that they will be installing curved anodised aluminium panels at the West and East ends of the Viewing Gallery, which is the same material as the barrel-cladding, just not with perforations in them.

If you go on craigstv latest video when he first starts off at ground level and turns the camera towards the back of the sound stand you can see what I meant in my comment above, They have started putting the pieces in underneath the roof what are the same as the barrel cladding just smaller square pieces. They've been like that for a while now though they don't seem to be working on them daily.

Archibald Leitch design supposed to be on the brick cladding of the stadium (very faint) and is on the benches in the fan zone plaza, and on the black rail fence along Nelson Dock to the south.

@@DuncTheBlue1878 Just as a footnote, the Balustrade along Nelson Dock will continue to the southern Isolation Bridge and the identical form of Balustrade will be used from the other side of the bridge along the water channel edge to the northern end. Although I can't see in the designs for sure, I think there will also be likewise along the other side of the water channel on the West Quay.

Construction will be completed in December (maybe new year if there's any delays). However, before the ground can host full capacity games, it needs to have test events at lower capacity first (so I imagine U23s or women's team games) in order for the safety certificate to be granted.That will take a while to complete. I doubt that the first team will play a game there until August 2025.

@@alexgreenwood404 Spurs only had two test events - both were in the March and then their first game in their new stadium was early April. Doesn’t take long, so the new owners could decide to move to BMD 4 or 5 months earlier than planned. We’ll have to wait and see, they may decide to stick with August 2025, but we don’t know yet.

They will be passed back to Peel. Those areas are only on lease for the build.

No the current law dictates only one person can stand per rail seat. IF the law were to ever change then potential is for 62k capacity. Think it'll be a long time if ever before that change comes.

In the consultation the club had with the fans back in 2018, I pleaded they go for a 60,000 capacity. However, I think the board were concerned about empty seats, like at the Emptyhad. Massive mistake. 34,000 on the season ticket waiting list and only about 9,000 of those will be lucky enough to have a seat.

@@DuncTheBlue1878 It does seem that EFC underestimated demand. That's a shame as it's difficult to see now how the situation can change fundamentally (I'm excluding the safe-standing argument). At least you can say "I told you so" and at least it should mean that the profitability of the ground, as it is, is just about guaranteed to do what it was intended to do by making the club self-sustaining and maybe just about compete at the highest level with genuine investment in the team. We can start to dream, especially with Friedkin's sound financial management.

Yeah, requires a change in the law by the government to allow safe standing (3 fans per 2 rail seats). Would increase fan numbers in the south stand lower tier, meaning the stadium would have a capacity of 62,000. Highly unlikely in the next few years though.

Should go to 60,000 to 62,000 when safe standing is approved and the UK government update the rules.
