If you do all of this, you will ruin the top and warp the plastic pieces. Don't boil everything!

The way I clean mine I just take some hot water from the kitchen sink faucet put the insert part of the misto sprayer in a container for 3 to 5 minutes let some water run from the faucet again then I dry it with paper towels and it’s done.

Why not just pump warm soapy water through it to clean it?

Okay, after maybe 3 or 4 minutes in the boiling water it is ruined. The plastic pump tube will not stay seated rendering my Misto useless. 😥 thankfully it is only a $10 item and not a $100 item. Hindsight tells me that washing in hot soapy Dawn dishwater would have been the "fix" for the Misto when it streams instead of spraying "misting". Thanks for making the video though!

This is a trick. Water is much less viscous than oil, so of course it will mist. You have to test it with actual oil.

Can I use blackseed or castor oil in this misto as they are really thick oils?

I washed thoroughly mine in every single part bringing it back like brand new, but still not working, like it doesn't keep the pressure inside. What can i do?

Terrible video. Soak in hot soapy water, scrub with toothbrush, pump vinegar and warm water and soap through it will help clean it out.

. I've stopped using mine they just put a fine mist of oil all over the place in the air as well as on your food

This video should have been deleted. Even HowtoDoit who posted the video said it damaged the Misto sprayer.

This totally useless video should be called 'HowToNOTDoit' and have been taken down when the poster received the first reports that their advice was destroying MISTOs. For reference you only need soak the internal pump/aerosol mechanism (NOT the entire unit) in very hot (certainly NOT boiling water!) for 5-10 minutes and then fill /pump/prime the unit with warm water and spray until the blockage has been removed and the unit sprays clear again.

Makes no sense to boil EVERYTHING.... The problem is In the nozzle. Maybe cleaning that would work.....

Your intentions were good; however, if a person were to follow along without watching through tol the end first, they would also harm their sprayer. Perhaps a disclaimer at the start would be good.

I followed this procedure, now the black label is peeling off around the screw top; had to throw it out.
