The ship part was a Sharon Miller episode in itself. The ship is thomas, the raft is the flat bed and thomas is the stupid cargo. Also the lack of buffers on the raft is the non existent brakevan

I relistened to the Misty Island intro and OH GOD it definitely looks like Pirates of the Caribbean theme, and I never noticed that as a kid.

Even though I kind of like Misty Island Rescue, there are some things about it I do not like at all: 1. Ferdinand says, "That's Right" 17 times. 2. Bash and Dash wouldn't stop complaining that they didn't have enough oil. 3. Thomas says, the rhyme, "I make good decisions that's what I was told, I will not be fearful, I'll be brave and bold to many times. And I think a tunnel to Misty Island is actually pretty cool although it would be nice if they used it in the later CGI seasons. And also I didn't like it that Bash and Dash finished sentences with each other.

That's exactly why I couldn't wait for you to do this one!! 10-10 Loved it!

I'm wondering if I could actually make this special better, but I need to know ALL that is wrong with it. Beyond the obvious hiccups like how Thomas ends up on the island and the logging loco's characters, the rhyming, etc.It would be a massive stretch but I can do something. I already have some ideas.

I know it's been over 6 years since the film was made, but uhm, has anyone else notice the fact bash and dash don't have any pistons at all? The rods outside suggests that their inside cylinder, but we can clearly see that they don't have any at all! The modelers and animator's forgot about this extremely important thing that makes a steam locomotive move! Ferdinand is at least an actual design that was exported to many other countries so it's not outlandish to say he was exported. But, what on earth is his gear ratio!? 1:1!? It completely negates that reason for a geared locomotive which is to pull heavy trains up steep grades. I mean for goodness sake we see him being able to keep up with Gordon! *A PACIFIC TYPE LOCOMOTIVE!* Thank you for listening to my rant about their designs.

Finally I've found someone who could actually defend the Logging Locos, especially Ferdinand. Also I couldn't agree more with you on that godforsaken & awdryforsaken Rhyming. That annoyed me even back when I was a kid.

Whilst the movie itself sucked years later on, at least it does have some good stuff. Heck, there was some good stuff like the concept, and there was emotion added where Sir Topham Hatt is desperate to find Thomas and bring him back to Sodor. Oh, and the quote you mentioned is so true. But sadly, the things that messed up the movie ruined what got the movie potential in the first place. Fans went from having positive to negative responses because... BACK THEN: Fans did enjoy the film. NOW: Fans have disowned the film for an amount of very good reasons. Even I disowned the film (including S12-16) as I had no idea why I was stupid enough to enjoy this and S12-16 as a kid (heck, I must have been such a blind Thomas fan and I don't know why). Oh well, I guess there are times in life where we are not too happy with what exists and what didn't really matter, but now I can see why everyone treats the movie differently nowadays, and now I am not so blind anymore, I now understand what fans have meant. The new movie was prretty bad.

To be honest, Misty Island Rescue was a really edge-of-the-seat movie. There was constant tension and a lot of suspense. I mean, true Thomas would be found but atleast it's not predictable and it is a good story. So, it's pretty cinematic

After the End Credits scene there is the return of Diesel 10 in full CGI which means he will be back in the Thomas Special called Day Of The Diesels

I still think that the way Diesel is punished for dropping the logs while Thomas is rewarded is unfair. for one, THOMAS is partly to blame for that, given that he basically called Diesel worthless because he wasn't a steam engine. Diesel then tried to prove himself, but it backfired on him. sure, he was rash and it was foolish to take the logs like that, but still, it's partly Thomas's fault, he certainly didn't deserve a reward of any kind. #railwayracism. the message that THAT sends across is that you can call someone worthless or insult them, watch them screw up and then be rewarded for your behavior. second, why would the Signalman switch Diesel onto a track that wasn't finished? why would that track even be open?

This was the second Thomas movie I've seen (Sorry, for my bad english, i'm hungarian)

I remember The day that my dad brought the DVD version just for me he had come home from work with a brand new car it was a Toyota sequoia it was for family we were going to go on a road trip to Pittsburgh. The night before me my dad and my mom we watched the movie and my God so terrible. Get on the road trip to Sequoia TV in the back I still watch the film I don’t know why

errr the dock manager said that they had to wait for another boat, but thomas said the he wanted to ride on the raft. the dock manager was unsure but thomas said it would be safe. then the rest of the movie happened.

For me, this special is one of my most despised "Thomas" specials/movies AKA one of the worst ones I've ever seen and reviewed on my blog and IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!! I felt like the rhyming was ungodly annoying and so were the Logging Locos, the plot was filler, the "MIR" song was cheesy but okay, Misty Island is really UNREALISTIC, THE PLOTHOLES ARE HARD TO IGNORED, and (of course, in HIT and Sharon Miller's logic), the characters are morons!!!!! But, the few things I enjoyed about it was Diesel 10 returning (foreshadowing "DOTD") and the soundtrack, which is both epic and really cool, I'm not gonna lie. But, this special is really one of the biggest cringing moments in my life because of how it's almost worse than "Calling All Engines" (which I hate as well) and Captain was just another merchandising character to me. But, I'm very glad that he got more screentime in Season 18 and "SLOTLT". Overall, I still did NOT enjoy "Misty Island Rescue" and I can honestly say, the Logging Locos and Captain were just a lost cause for the series AND THIS SPECIAL!! I give it a 3.5/10 and I think your points are very solid, +Thomas1Edward2Henry3!

I watched MIR after it was released,I had just discovered what became of the show after 2004,and was in a very defensive position regarding that. That made me hate it the first time I saw it. The only thing I liked about it was the ending music.

Bash, Dash and Ferdinand are some of the most funniest characters ever in the series. And looking back, they kind of remind me of Spud from Bob the Builder because he was always a doofus in that show. And The Logging Locos are the equivalent of him in this movie.
