Sure, it's a G#1, but I don't like the "breathy" sound from the 'dragonsbreath' technique he uses. Using subharmonics or even fry would make it sound better.

I have had a hearing problem all my life, and sadly some music is very hard to listen too because the higher pitches don't register a vibration that I can feel. How ever I don't have a problem with any songs Tim foust and Peter sing together, so from the bottom of my heart thank you so very very much.

Do you have Usher’s Syndrome? Lack of ability to hear higher pitches is a staple of it. I have Usher’s Syndrome Type 2.

Addison Riddleberger, I have faulty Eustachian tubes which has lead to damaged eardrums. After many years of this the specialist have said nothing else can be done.

Josh Barela Bilbo NEVER EVER sang this song ! It was ONLY sung by “dwarfs” & Bilbo is a “hobbit” !

I think the point that he made was that this could pass as Bilbo singing with them since, for the most part, the dwarves sang mostly bass. Peter Hollens's parts in this cover are higher in pitch which Bilbo's voice is more relative to. Anyone who watched the movie already knows that only the dwarves sang the original version

Ik you posted this a year ago, now you are a sophomore, congrats! It's pretty easy to hit the last note if you know how to growl. Simply put there are four ways to go lower in a style point of view. First off, growling, then vocal fry, then subharmonic, there is the obvious choice of your chest being just that low. Your vocal cords are a muscle just train them to hit lower notes, but practice growling, vocal fry, and subharmonics on your own time.

Vocal fry is easy, growling is easy to learn(it just takes a while) and subharmonics will takes years of practice to get right. Don't hurt yourself.

For most people, the louder their voice gets, the higher it is perceived by the human ear. And then there's Tim. The deeper in pitch his voice goes, the louder and more powerful it gets.

The arrangement is nice. But the story/ song has so many verses... This is not a coherent telling of the source material. Beautifully sung but not quite to the level of justice imo

@@bryanpaakkonen8906 Okay right, but this also is not live and if they did the song in its entirety, nobody would hear anything past the halfway point because no speaker in the world can stand up to Tim for very long when he's on a roll. They were kind to us in trying NOT to break our stuff. :)

It might or might not be autotuned, but it's a lot easier to get perfect harmony when all the notes are being made by the same person. That's not to detract from the beauty of this version, 'cos it's wonderful.

I met Tim Foust in Montana when i was in HS. he and Homefree sang for our HS after our choir sang for school. he was so nice. one of the people who encouraged me to continue music. not famous, but I did get offered a 4 year at college.

Agreed it seems like that. My voice is pretty low, and when I hit lower (nothing near this) notes, my world literally shimmers...the vibrations carry through my bones and make the world shake, so if you’re listening in headphones, I would imagine it would create some of that same effect. Mostly on his penultimately lowest note, not the last one. It doesn’t vibrate the same way without the resonance. But still..jaw=floor

I never noticed in all my time watching this until I watched a reactor reacting to this just now - but Tim’s note at the end makes the camera shake! OMG 😱 now I can’t stop watching the end of the song over and over again. With the screen maximised, which I don’t normally bother with. But now I need to with this amazing song. Vexurath here, Tim probably uses subharmonics which can make it easier to sing lower and make notes below your chest range sound good, however, when you go as low as he did, it is very hard to distinguish between subharmonics and a vocal fry. This was definitely not a growl however, growls are much scarier. 😨

Subharmonics have a much more glottal sound, or a stronger sound. This was Vocal Growl, which is technically falsetto, but anyways you can tell by the breathy-ness of the note, and how quiet the actual pitch is.

:) Glad you enjoyed it. I don't have headphones that work at the moment so I am just using my flatscreen tv with its pathetic little speakers in order to hear this (yes, I do realize I am missing out). Because of the other noises in my house, I had the tv turned up to 60% for another video, started watching this and almost had a heart attack trying to turn down the volume before the speakers got blown. Thankfully nothing bad happened... :)

Some kids get a lullaby before they go to bed, I got this, sang to me by my dad and my grandfather. They sang it to me every night before I went to sleep when my grandfather was in town. This is amazing to hear now
