​@@WootDini Thanks. Appreciated. The Strix 18 comes with Raid 0, but none of the tested videos I've seen reports faster ... well ... faster anything. Buy from a reseller and one can even change them to Samsung 990 Pros for $$. - As I understand the downsides, it's A) total data loss if a SSD fails and B) there is at least "some" additional latency caused by having to put the data through the raid controller ... both are bad for my use case (gaming). - The "pros" are typically written as "faster speeds, reduce load times, and maximize SSD performance" or similar. Those are mostly "just words". If someone reported that "loading a game's zone or changing a player's game character took 3 seconds less than 13 seconds without raid 0", I'd be all over that as a value proposition. (#'s pulled from bum in this eg). - Most tests I've managed to google are literally one or more SSD generations old. Not spotted a single one for PCIe-5. - My own experience was with a 9 year old Asus laptop where the Raid 0 just failed last month (why I'm seeking replacement). Even with backups, it's pretty gruesome to recover from. With limited information, for a decision made today, I'm thinking I'll go with your recommendation. Thanks again

@@WootDini thank you, so i bought mine about a week ago from best buy but ms edge browser had a message that said "browser managed by your institution" which i finally fixed yesterday after hours of research. I did a system reset and after doing it everything looked normal, but when i went to windows 11-setting-bluetooth & devices -devices mine shows: pci to pci bridge universal serial bus (usb)controller usb root hub (usb 3) so after all the struggle i just want to know if those devices belong there

Tell you what, I have really only done music content vids But, I will make an unboxing/ 1 week's use in both work and play (Voice Network Engineer and Gamer) and deliver an honest opinion about it. Best buy is with a nice promo now: SCAR 18 4080 for USD2099.... that's a NICE price! But I am really concerned... I think I'll talk to them and check if in case it has a loud coil whine, they would replace it for me like in 3 days... that's the window i'll have in US And now I read a lot of complains about M18, regarding thermal issues, overheating... people already repasting it... and it's hard to do in the inverted mobo.

That's a hard question haha. So I will say the warranties issue is a concern. They are a massive company so I would not say it's a scam. What I will say is I do not agree with some of their practices. In the recent years they have taken some shortcuts that have burnt them and the lessons have not been learned hard enough. As a reviewer / creator I don't particularly enjoy the way they work with/treat many creators including me. Man such a hard question because they make quality products (and some shit too) but it's their practices that are causing issues. So I guess I would summarise it by saying they need to go back to basics in that the consumer comes first and not the shareholder, and also to treat media with more respect. The above is my opinion. There is plenty wrong but scam is the wrong way to look at it. I would say as above in that they making questionable decisions

To be completely honest I don't think I've ever heard it, definitely not on battery and when I'm at home I have headphones plugged in whenever I do anything performance heavy but even without those, if you start something like a game the fans get pretty loud
