I love Mitchell and Webb. Just about every sketch they ever did on this show worked well. The one that was coming up next at the end of the video - Evil Genius - is a great parody of all the James Bond villains and I think there were 3 different sketches of that too. Great reactions to our Brit humour!

@@EaterOfBaconSandwiches The rule is that the article before the acronym is used in the same way as when the acronym is spoken as it normally would be. Therefore there is no need for "just as an", as it makes no sense saying, "just as an for your information. "Whitehall is the British Government offices, FYI".

I love David Mitchell. Well, I love both of them, actually and they really are great friends. Robert was David's best man at his (fairly recent) wedding. That's a sweet, true love story to check out someday.

USA time is 5-8 hours behind UK depending on which time zone they're in, so if it's 8pm where you live and you mentioned you're 6 hours behind, that means you're in Mountain time zone, it would have been 2am in UK, but since the time you've uploaded the video was later then it explains why it was 5pm in UK by the time it actually uploaded... Something many commenters seem to not be able to grasp.

Also, consider this. If we were to receive a signal, even if we could travel faster then light it would be nearly impossible to figure out exactly where it came from. We may have the direction but we have no idea the distance and planets and solar systems don't stay still. Solar systems are also moving around and the universe is expanding and all sorts of things that make finding the sender like finding a grain of sand in a sandstorm. Any life that could receive our signal and also use to find us would probably be so advanced that they would already know about us.

Whitehall is the area in London near Parliament where the government bureaucracy has most of its headquarters. Named after the street Whitehall but now meaning that whole quarter.

Alpha Centauri, our closest neighbour, is only 4.367 light years away and could be a system with habitable planets. Although highly improbable, it's not impossible that someone's been listening to us for over 120 years already. Perhaps they have the technology to visit, but after listening to us, they've decided we were best left well alone.

Hey @After Work Reactions - I was in Poland when we heard about this going to the moon thing and it was sort of frightening feeling....Moon felt so fa away.....we started to think moe whats out there...but at the same time the all alien stuff started to popping out and this was even more scary...than we stared to ask...how far the outspace goes and it was so difficult to understand that the space has no end that i remember that I couldnt sleep peacefully for so many years....than we had Discovery ad the stuff there was just leading me to the new age, far away from God....that I reget ddigging inside those subjects.

The best thing you can say to someone who is talking to you about themselves believing in conspiracy theories is. "But, that's what they want you to believe". It flips the table on them making it a double conspiracy, but they're wrong. Kinda like they did in this video.

I agree with your assessment of the alien question! We are not alone in the Universe, if you just take a mathematical perspective it’s almost certain that there are species on other planets. The question is are we more technologically advanced than other species, the amount of suitable planets that astrologers have found that are somewhat similar to earth. Is growing every month.

theres definitely life elsewhere in the universe. life happened here so we know life is possible, there are billions of planets like earth where life as we know it can form and there could be life that could form where life as we know it couldnt form. anyone who says there is not life outside of earth is incredibly ignorant.

Mitchell and Webb look is such a great show. I think you’d enjoy watching the full series rather than just these clips, almost every single sketch is brilliant. Edit: it used to be on UK Netflix but it’s not anymore, I’m not even sure where to find it myself now and I want to watch it🙄

Me and my mates will always talk about conspiracys because it helps us work out what is believable and what is obviously a lie, I do believe we should keep an open mind however don't believe everything, but leave your open to things don't not care but don't just talk everything as fact

I’m such a huge fan of Mitchell and Webb. There’s one clip I think it’s called ‘Crazy Arms’ and as silly as it is, it had me laughing so hard that I was crying, my sides hurt and I wound up w the hiccups. (Idk why laughing too hard gives me hiccups but it has since I was a child) Edit: I just looked it up and it’s called ‘Great British Secret Weapon Radar’.

I didn't actually slag off England actually I just said it has 60 odd million meaning it's very common to be from there, not unique in the slightest. Xenophobia is "the Welsh are a rare and unusual breed" replace with Welsh with any other country and that's called xenophobia. You're clearly from there like millions and millions of others. Welcome to England where you can slag off every other nation on Earth (except best mates the USA of course) and get away with it. Top secret army base? In Kelvedon Hatch, Essex, UK, there is a building designated as a Secret Nuclear Bunker. How did I come across such "classified" information? Am I a foreign spy? Am I a disgruntled secret sevice agent gone rogue? Did I "persuade" a top Tory cabinet minister to reveal the info after showing him some explicit photographs of him with his favourite catamite? No, of course not! There's a sign post in Ongar saying Secret Nuclear Bunker! I kid you not. But before you say: "What the f.....!", I'll let you in on a little secret; it's actually a museum. The signpost was probably a bit of light-hearted fun by some civil servant in the Department of Transport. Talking of civil servants, Whitehall (which you queried) is where all those nice civil servants in government ministries work. And Downing Street runs into Whitehall. Just to let you know.
