About the author:
Miko Peled is an Israeli peace activist. His father Mattityahu Peled was was a well-known Israeli public figure who was at various periods of his life a professional military man who reached the rank of Aluf (Major General) in the IDF and was a member of the General Staff during the Six-Day War of 1967; a notable scholar who headed the Arabic Language and Literature Department of Tel Aviv University; a radical peace activist and a leading proponent of Israeli dialogue with the PLO and of complete withdrawal from the Occupied Territories in whose conquest he personally had a major role; and a member of the Knesset who often expressed controversial views considered "extreme left" in Israeli terms, yet was treated with considerable respect by staunch political people.

Hopefully, the current situation will be a catalist for the change. I think this 'one state' solution to allow jews and muslims to live in a democratic state. Recognising Isreal's aparthied shows this is the only way. Occupier extremists need to be sent back to their own countries, for breaking international law.

How can there be Miko Peled, son of a former Israeli General, who calls Israel an apartheid state and hates Zionism And yet on the other side We have Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of the former founder of Hamas who if anything is now an ardent Zionist and loves Israel! Miko Peled, Norman Finkelstein, Noam Chomsky, Ilan Pappe and Gabor Mate are all Jews who have been there and seen what happened and documented it extensively. I believe them. Obviously, Hamas have done wrong things and Oct 7 was horrific, but this conflict dates back to 1920 or so and Hamas did not exist back then.

You should listen to his story before you're quick to judge.People like Miko have bought nothing but death and destruction to Israel. Eg the Oslo accords. Seven times the Palestinians were offered a deal starting with the Peel commission and every time they rejected it. Study history in DEPTH!

2023.. Genocide against Palestinians in Gaza ongoing unfortunately.. Just today, oldest Church in Gaza City which served as shelter for refugees leveled to ground(air strike)! Couple days before, they hit hospital.. over 500 civilians just in that strike massacred, mostly children.. 😥 True face of zionism !

@@IceNdice93 au contraire, much has changed since.. Maybe not the violence against the people of Palestine, but public opinion is shifting. Who would have said that in the heart of Congress, representatives would speak up against the Apartheid in Israel. This is unheard of. Media stance is changing, albeit af a very slow pace. The aggressors know this too well. I watch Israeli TV and I can tell youu that if there anything that worries the occupiers, it is not Hamas and their firework display (that's their only way of resistance), it is world opinion and they are up in arms to make people shut up. So, it will take time, but time is on the side of the indigenous people and not the occupiers. Salute

Imagine Americans having their taxes pay for things like free prescriptions. Imagine that your taxes pay for you to go to a doctor get diagnosed and a prescription which you can take to your pharmacist, get that filled all for free. This is the benefit that we get in Scotland through our taxes as well as medical treatment being paid for via taxes. I found that in America with the having a child from the start to the end with you going home. It could cost you upto $50,000 to have 1 child. In Scotland and likely the UK as a whole this isn't the case. Granted that this allows people with bad financial positions to have kids but also prevents people from putting themselves into debt just for creating the next generation for the country to proper.

I don't think Miko Peled mentioned how Netanyahu cronys assassinated Yitzak Rabin AND Yahya Ayyash who was also observing CEASEFIRE under the 1995 Oslo Peace Accords, which led to the breakdown of the "peaceful Two-State Solution" and ultimately the Second Intifada, where desperate Palestinians, men and women, young and old, committed to a spate of suicide bombings, AND ultimately led to their democratic vote for the stronger Hamas governance!

The Oslo peace accords led to the deaths of 1000s of Israelis and Rabin's murder was committed by one crazy extremist Yigal Amir and had nothing to do with Netanyahu.The second intifada didn't start to 2000 started by Arafat who was clearly never serious about peace. Does truth need eloquence to be truth? I get that a well spoken intellectual makes the message more credible but that leaves us liable for falsehoods to be pushed by those who can wrap it in the best window dressing.

To the Palestinian Arab lady born in Jordan....i sympathize with you, but you need to know that that land is N.E. Africa (AFRICA), so it would make sense that Africans are there...in the wrong position of course, but it is Africa, you people always dismiss the Africans in their own land. Furthermore, Arabs and Europeans are both invaders to N.E. Africa, but i support the N.E. Africans over the invading Crusading European Terrorists because, they are indigenous to the region, NOT the Terrorist Europeans, they were not a part of Abraham's House when the Torah God sent Abraham from Ur, Chaldea to crossover into N.E. Africa early BCE, no such record.
