Hello everyone! I finally managed to upload Part 3 of the Kumiko Lamp- making series. I was so busy working to a make living and tuition for my daughter's college. I thank everyone who has been waiting for my video.
This video will show how to make Kumiko grids with a very simple jig. This jig can help to make literally all parts of the Kumiko. The plan for this jig is available on my website. You can click on the link above.
I hope everyone will enjoy it! Thanks so much for all the supports.
P.S.
My 2022 class schedule is finally out. For those who are near me and interested in my workshop, click on the link below to see the full class schedule.

I like the use of the miter saw. Got me thinking about trying that.

Thank you this was an amazing idea to pull this off with a circular saw but with height adjustment instead

Part 4 was supposed to come out last December. But, I had received an important project to be finished by the first week of January. I think I can have part 4 ready by the end of January. Thanks for watching.

Hi Taeho! I finally allocated enough time to sit down and watch this which as is normal for me it's 04:00 and I'm still only half awake. I'm a bit like you in that there just aren't enough available hours to do all the things I need to to do much less the multitude of things I want to do. ;-) I still have a backlog of tool builds and things to make for Christmas gifts but I wanted to wish you well during the upcoming holiday season and say thank you for yet another excellent video. Stay safe my friend.

Hi, This is a great video and thank you for sharing your process. I have been testing out a few ways to make kumiko joints faster and potentially safer than the table saw sled. (I do not have saw stop table saw). Do you think using a miter saw is a viable way to make larger patterns consistently? One joint seems easy, but moving the blade 120 degrees is a bit tricky. It would be great to hear your recommendations. Thanks!

The miter saw works better for me than the table-saw sled, which I tried first. Part 4 will cover more about the miter-saw jig. Thanks for watching.

Sorry for the late reply. It's a thin kerf blade that is about 3/32". Part 4 will cover more about the blades I use for the Kpax saw. Thanks, as always.

What kind of miter saw blade do you use? My miter saw came with thin kerf, it seem to me thin kerf thickness is too thin to make the mitsukude frame.
@WoodArtStudio1

I use thin kerf that came with the saw. The mitsukude's thickness I use is close to the 3/32"
