You know if rep-rap or some other 3D printers could print out several smaller versions of themselves, then those smaller 3D printers could print smaller versions and so on (sort of like the broomsticks in Disney's fantasia) until you get to the molecular scale and you can build 3D print enzymes, protein builders, and DNA in a controlled way O_o.

The thing I love about Dr. Lander is that he's so brilliant and accomplished, yet he teaches these topics in a way that's not belittling the intelligence of his students. There are faculty with far fewer credentials who are way more condescending.

I am now a PhD scholar, on my way to become a lecturer but I still keep coming back to this video, after discovering it in my first year of bachelors. The way Professor Eric makes this inherently complex process sound so simple and harmonious is so interesting. Hopefully, I'd imbibe some of his teachings and pass onto my future students.

David Chen the way this professor teaches is so much more clear and effective. The powerpoint slides a lot of instructors use have too much information for your brain to process. Him writing the information as he tells it to you makes him slow down the information to the same speed as a student can take it in. He’s also very logical and explains the rationale behind things. He seems like an awesome instructor!
@fernank017
@fernank017 4 жыл бұрын
@@tasmaniandevil6750 modern topics, especially those in proteomics/biochemistry can't be drawn quickly and the class covers less materials. You can cover much more material in a powerpoint, and students are better prepared for graduate school. If I had to wait for my biochemistry prof to finish drawing all the structures of AA's or other metabolites (especially complex ones like steroids), we probably wouldn't get very far.

A nucleoside triphosphate + H2O ightleftharpoons a nucleotide + diphosphate Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are nucleoside triphosphate and H2O, whereas its two products are nucleotide and diphosphate. This enzyme belongs to the family of hydrolases, specifically those acting on acid anhydrides in phosphorus-containing anhydrides. The systematic name of this enzyme class is nucleoside-triphosphate diphosphohydrolase. This enzyme is also called nucleoside-triphosphate pyrophosphatase. This enzyme participates in purine metabolism and pyrimidine metabolism. For example, enzyme deoxyribonucleoside triphosphate pyrophosphatase, encoded by YJR069C in S. cerevisiae and exhibiting (d)ITPase and (d)XTPase activities, hydrolyses ITP, dITP, XTP and dXTP releasing pyrophosphate and IMP, dIMP, XMP and dXMP, respectively....... or something like that 😁😁😁

I love science but I took genetics 3 times, I failed twice because it just didn’t click even after reading my textbook thoroughly. I wish this guy was my professor, he made this fun. Btw, I’m glad I was able to recall most of those enzymes and their jobs. Really amazing stuff.

Great job 👏!! I learned a lot because it was difficult for me to just memorize something that I can’t see it or imagine it🥺🥺😥😥 but this lecture helped me to understand the chain, the enzymes and location their jobs 👌👌👏👏 when I was listening to; thinking with my self that how these professors and people in developed countries work hard, accomplish their responsibilities with passion and heartfelt 👏👏 and I ashamed of myself that even do not bother myself to read the books and to learn from the already available educational resources! May God bless all the teachers and professors and who are trying to teach new generations wish you all the best 💐💐🙏🙏💐💐
