Turns out, there's an enzyme for making it possible for me to learn biology. It's called, Professorrase Eric-Landerase.

Answer to everything occurring inside a cell : "There is an enzyme for that."

The thing I love about Dr. Lander is that he's so brilliant and accomplished, yet he teaches these topics in a way that's not belittling the intelligence of his students. There are faculty with far fewer credentials who are way more condescending.

I am now a PhD scholar, on my way to become a lecturer but I still keep coming back to this video, after discovering it in my first year of bachelors. The way Professor Eric makes this inherently complex process sound so simple and harmonious is so interesting. Hopefully, I'd imbibe some of his teachings and pass onto my future students.

This professor is so incridible! He makes it look so simple and interesting, his speech makes me want to learn so much more about this. Thank you so much for posting this, it has helped me so much, i have an exam tomorrow for Molecular Biology. Thank you Prof. Lander

I LOVE how this professor lectures in a way where one topic smoothly leads into another. I absolutely hated how my professor would teach two topics separately without showing how the two processes interact.. it confused me so much and I had a hard time understanding how all these enzymes work together in a system. I LOVED this lecture, I'm confident in my understanding of DNA replication now. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Seriously the best explanation I've seen so far. The Prof really explained everything, why is synthesis 5' to 3' , how proof reading is done, how old and new strands are differentiated, literally EVERYTHING.

He just made me realize choosing pure line biology in your grad is totally worth!!

After a whoooole day of studying DNA, and not getting quite right, I just leard and understood it in 30 minutes! All genetic teachers should learn how be real professors.This man is gold!

His Energy is unmatched "The Professor"

this is awesome. I should've watched MIT's videos a long long time ago. Amazing lecture!

In case you didn't know, this guy was a mathematician before becoming a geneticist and, notably, was a medalist in international mathematical olympiad as a kid. I don't know if this is something he carries from his maths background, or if this course is structured this way because it's not strictly intended for biology majors, but he teaches biology in a very, kind of, logical way, which makes this stuff all the more interesting and memorable.

I'm blown away by this mans teaching style. I always assumed professors at the university level were not as attentive or worried about making the class interesting, but here I am, sitting through the whole video entranced about the subject. This does not comapre to the education I'm receiving at a community college.

My god, the confidence he has in this lesson makes my biotech major body tremble

Holy shyet. I already did my fundamental of biology, and general microbiology. But today is the day I finally understand what Topoisomer (I know isomer but idk what topo means).

I don't have words for his teaching, once he taught, that content can be remembered for months easily.

The professor has excellent academic delivery. Without PowerPoint, he put his heart and soul into the lesson. He excellent educator who has comprehensive knowledge of DNA replication.

I love this man without getting to know him. He is 62 now; what a legend.

i think he gives the class by emotions, and any definition he teaches, is an emotion he feels. so therefore why he is good, cause he likes to teach.

I heard the lecture and I found it very intriguing. The enzymes are the proteins in your body that break down food particles, build muscle and destroying toxins. He also brought up Arthur Kornberg, an American biochemist that discovered DNA in 1959. If there's an abnormality in your DNA, you'll get a DNA related disease. Like Cystic Fibrosis. Thank you for the lecture.

I love science but I took genetics 3 times, I failed twice because it just didn’t click even after reading my textbook thoroughly. I wish this guy was my professor, he made this fun. Btw, I’m glad I was able to recall most of those enzymes and their jobs. Really amazing stuff.
