The first exhaust fan video on this account 😎
As a background story, this exhaust fan hole actually wasn't there before the house handover, as it probably today's developers thought that it wouldn't be a problem with the house ventilation when the buyer still had windows provided in each room.
And yeah, I do admit that this house air circulation is really that good when you open the windows during the day, as you can see how the fan's blade rotates continuously, even though it is not connected to electricity.
However, I still insist on installing a wall exhaust fan on my office room, because I will need it anyway at night to circulate the whole house when the windows are closed. The process of making this exhaust fan hole was assisted with a help of a handyman which finally allowed me to have a proper 12" exhaust fan space in my house. At the time, I chose the Mitsubishi Electric EX-30RHK5T.
Even though it is more expensive than other well-known brands in Indonesia, Mitsubishi Electric’s ventilation fan does have its own charm. If you notice, the Mitsubishi ventilation fan has characteristics that are opposites to other ventilation fans, such as the power cord and shutter pullchain are located on the left side, and an ergonomical blade design that rotates against the direction of the standard exhaust fan (clockwise for outake & counter-clockwise for intake).
It used very good plastic and iron plates material. Not to mention, its performance is very powerful, but also quiet at the same time.
I often leave it with the shutter open without connecting it to electricity during the day, so that the wind can pass through this fan. For me, it’s really interesting to know how the building breathes by looking at the direction of its blade rotation.
