Can You Beat Skyrim With Only A Wooden Sword? (in text form)
I wasn’t lying in the intro. Unarmed attacks do 4 damage unless you’re a Khajit or Lizard, then they do 10, an iron dagger’s also a 4, but the wooden sword is sitting rock solid at a very impressive 2 damage per swing. Only the Fork is considered more worthless from the standpoint of damage, and monetary value. While the Fork has the advantage of being a fork, the wooden sword’s biggest advantage is being available in abundance. Wooden Swords can be bought from general merchants, found as random loot, and can be witnessed inside the hall for honorable orphans. Alternatively, they can be stolen from a cat’s hidden pocket. There’s a hidden chest tucked away by the Mineshaft in Dawnstar which contains all Ahkari’s wares. To abuse the exploit that resets her inventory, she needs to be in town, but to rob her blind it wouldn’t really make sense for her to know you’re there. Or, to take it a set further, it wouldn’t make sense for you to know where she it. To immediately get an overpowered Wooden Sword, borrow the enchanted weapons and armor, strip them of their most important merits, take one of the soul gems you stole from Akhari, slap it in the Wooden Sword with the enchantment of your choice and like magic you’ve got stick that does ludicrous amounts of damage.
With a most impressive stick, I alerted the Jarl of the dragon in Whiterun, took a peak at what lurks beneath the court wizard, sold him my children’s clothing, and set off for Bleak Falls Barrow on Legendary Difficulty. For those of you who had your legencherries popped by a wooden sword like I did, I’ll explain what Legendary difficulty does because I’d never played with such an OP stick before. Legendary difficulty makes NPCs take 1/4 as much damage as they would on Adept which would’ve been a big enough of a deal for me to play on as it is, and also makes the player take 3 times as much damage. Do the math, Legendary makes Skyrim 12 times harder, negating the positive side effects of imbuing a piece of wood with the soul of a snowman. The Widowed Frostbite Spider killed me half a dozen times despite my best efforts to avoid her. She made peace with the Draugr in her own way and came out the other side of the triple bladed swing trap a stronger spider than before. Only by cracking Skyrim back down to Adept, chugging potions, and saving my level up for a moment of introspection could I survive in any meaningful way against 3 of the most basic, uninspired Draugr this barrow had to offer. The Draugr Overlord, a single target, wasn’t as much of a struggle to kill. As usual, returning the Dragonstone advanced the story enough to kick the cats into gear. They’re at Dawnstar, the real game can begin. Up to this point, everything’s been pretty conventional.

Also. when he said something about Argonians and Khajiit causing 10 Unarmed Damage instead of 4. that is Correct for Argonians, but Khajiit actually cause 22. since they have the Base of 10. but Claws adds 12 ontop of that (It may say it adds 15 but it only adds 12)

I did this once for fun. I maxed out smithing , enchanting and potion making. I made potions that buff potion , enchanting and smithing. Made armors that enhance potion making , enchanting and smithing. Then all of them combined made a legendary wooden sword with an enchantment of the faster attack swings.

It can be forgiven, soul gems become kinda useless after you get the Black Star. I always make sure to download a mod to make it so a soul only goes into the smallest gem it can (none of that crap where a petty soul fills a grand gem), but that’s about it.

Well, it is actually pretty predictable - use trader chest glitch, use alchemy/enchantment loop glitch, become a god, use flavor of the week weapon to trample everyone.

Not sure how well known this is, I came across it years ago when Skyrim first came out. If you fast travel whilst casting the telekinesis spell and wearing equipment that gives you zero magika drain, then your alteration skill automatically rises based on the time taken to fast travel from paint A to B, which almost always puts it to 100. Legendary the perk for unlimited perk point.

@@CARILYNF All you do bro is get 4 different items that you can enchant wit fortify alteration(or whatever school it is) at 25%. That will make the telekinesis cost 0 magica to cast. Now since you have unlimited telekinis, while your levitating whatever item you choose to, open the menu and select a far away place to fast travel to. By the time you spawn to wherever you chose your alteration will be on 100

When you do the fortify restoration trick, you have to also make fortify enchanting potions, and then use those to enchant your gear to the absurd levels. They'll stay permanently overpowered that way.

@@Scanlaid nah - putting on gear with the restoration potion effect on boosts AL buffs, basically, which is why this glitch works - even perks are weak to it. on the other side, making an enchant potion, just like a blacksmithing boosted enchant, will make any items while under it's effects 'normally'. no real trickery there, just, not supposed to be able to get such large numbers.

@@Altair1243WAR pretty much. but still, something like 40k% better stuff is still utterly game breaking without, you know, actually breaking the game on you. hell, 4k% even. the game tends to be balanced around maybe double your stuff -litle less than double health, magicka, stamina doesn't matter as much, double ish wh, 2h, bows, free magic though it takes up most armor slots to become a 'master' mage, little bit better enchanting, potions, blacksmithing.

The reason the Fortify Restoration glitch didnt work as well as you anticipated is because you gotta make a fortify enchanting, and enchant new alchemy gear. That sort of anchors your progress and from there you can kickstart the process in the future. Also, you missed an absolute powerhouse of a rapid leveling exploit. Remember that necklace you made that makes alteration spells cost nothing? Instead of just holding an object and leveling that way, instead... hold the object. Then open the fast travel menu and go across the whole map... The game counts it as if you walked the whole distance while holding the object with telekinesis... if memory serves me right, Whiterun to Riften is enough to go from freshly reset to a full 100 in Alteration. Rinse and repeat and you can get to a few hundred levels in a few hours, easy.

"Can you beat Skyrim with only a shield" You can, I've done it, it's possible, but it really makes you think outside the box, like using that one spiked shield you can get while the elder scroll quest in the Dwarven ruins, the skills and skill tree, stamina management, and nothing feels better then killing Alduin with nothing more than a fucking shield

10:51 Thats because you did half of restoloop. After you have good fortify restoration potions you make fortify enchanting with: -Blue Butterfly wing -snowberries. enchant while this pot is in effect. also good poison: -deathbell,pinethrush egg,riverbetty good money and alchemy exp: -creep cluster, giant toe, wheat. (last two ware for any new players, also supposedly resto loop doesen't work with unofficial patches same with the chest in the beginning of the video. but last time i downloaded mods there was a resto loop enabler with unofficial patch so if you wanna you will have to find it yourself because i don't remember exact name for it.) having poisons that kill everything or potion worth so much money you can farm speech to lvl 100 and legendary is good shit (thats how i easily go to whatever lvl i want.).

I remember I used a Skyrim mod that allowed me to upgrade any weapons with the grindstone. I thought I would only be able to upgrade low damage items by a little bit. But then I did the smithing quest that glitches how much you can upgrade weapons. It came to the point that I had a wooden sword that did 7845564 damage

You should do a challenge as a fisherman in Skyrim. You can only do damage with a fishing pole only wear fisherman’s garb (I know there is at least a hat) and heal off of fish and mud crab meat.

When doing the alchemy loop make sure to quick save and wait after equipping the gear. The gear retains the power it has when equipped until removed. Then the waiting prevents the issue of potion effects stacking and timing out removing all active effects.

except the issue he had was with the enchanting part, which is more likely 'you've got like 30 seconds to finish enchanting something, if you press 'create item' at like 31 seconds, you're screwed'.

I will admit I don't even know if the quick save thing works, but I will say the best way to take advantage of it is while you're under the effects of the ridiculous potions and your gear increases your potion power by 1000000% or whatever (not TOO high lest you crash the game). During this window you create a fortify enchanting potion or 5 if you can. Drink said potion of fortify enchanting and immediately enchanted whatever item you like with the fortify alchemy and bam you have a price of gear that permanently increases the potency of potions by a stupid amount and you never have to do the loop again

I’m pretty sure the loop is supposed to be: High% Fortify Alchemy Potion => Fortify Enchanting Potion => Use that to give an item a permanent super enchantment

I hate these reddit-tier 'aha, gotcha' moments. No, a wooden sword is not a weapon, hence it's a wooden sword and not a club, or some other sort of designed weapon. No, a plank and a cricket bat is not a weapon either inherently, otherwise you could say moronic shit like a fistful of fire ants, paper sheets, and water are weapons. A wooden sword is a training tool for people who don't need to use actual swords, its not a weapon, get over it and go back to reddit please.

Iirc, the reason your armor wasnt keeping the permanent buff is cuz you need to make fortify enchantment potions and make armor with stronger fortify alchemy effects which are then used to make stronger fortify enchantment potions

In my first or second playthrough of vanilla Skyrim I made a game-breaking armor set using the enchanting exploit. I could one shot dragons by punching them. I whirlwind sprinted off the Throat of the World and lived (300k health, the fall did between 100k an 150k).

Tips i discovered in skyrim while goofing off take a bow. enchant with "if target dies within x amount of seconds, fills a soul gem" and set it to 1 second for maximum charges. no matter how long you fight you'll always fill a soul gem with a kill. still smith a shit load of iron daggers (very poor nowadays but it helps later) take those 2k iron daggers and enchant them all with the filled soul gems you got along the way. enchant all those daggers. craft clothes that allow 25% reduced cast cost for what you want to cast. Cast master level spells at no cost and without needing to level up that spell tree.

Oh, I see your mistake with the potions, you forgot the enchantment potion. The restoration loop gets you pretty far, but an enchantment potion seals your deeds with an iron grip.

Watching these videos made me start doing challenge runs myself. Currently trying to beat Mothership zeta without using alien technology. Playing games with stupid rules is a lot more interesting and fun as I thought it would be, and sometimes also infuriating.

the enchantment effect counts as what it says when you put it on. so even after it wears off it still has the ridiculously hight stats until you unequip it
