Irish born Dominick Martin (aka Calibre) has been busy putting out great music for more than 2 decades now. His catalog is truly huge - countless singles, albums, collaborations, remixes, freebies... and I won't pretend to know it all! @@TheDaddyO44 Cheers, mate. Totally hit the spot with me. Big time. Another Calibre mix would be great. PS: finally tracked down the Bukem album that was my intro to this kind of shit. Thought it was a Logical Progressions thing, but turns out is was Earth Vol 3. I mean, it's not that DnB, but vibey in the same kind of way, if you know what I mean? End of the day, I will bow to your superior knowledge on all this/that. Hey, I'm here to learn... 💙

I just can't get enough of your mixes. I know so much of Calibre's music and most mixes sound too "familiar", but this one was sooo refreshing. Your taste in music is really great.

I'm not acquainted with Calibre, but I was so impressed by yer man's mixes of The Field that I will give it a serious listen. Ten minutes in, I'm getting echoes of LTJ Bukem. He's from the same planet, at the very least.

Yeah Calibre was just starting out in drum n bass as Bukem was peaking, so I'm sure he would have soaked up some influence

Oh definitely :) And they're both Brits, so possibly in each other's orbit at that time. The DnB universe wasn't so big back then

@@TheDaddyO44 Bukem's best stuff doesn't seem to show up on KZfaq, which is a shame. Liquid dnb, or whatever you wanna call it. Great vibe. Always thought of Bukem as quite London, whereas I see Calibre is from Belfast. I'm throwing in Orbital as a common link!

Lol, the Hartnolls as missing link 😐😶! True about the distance between Calibre and Bukem for sure, but pretty much everyone making DnB looked to what was coming out of London first (whether to work with or against it!). I'm sure Dominick would've been very aware of Bukem's work, plus I know Bukem played out in Ireland mid/late 90s 🙂 Re Bukem's tunes not up on KZfaq - his publishers blocked "Rainfall" in my drum n bass mix (all 44 other tracks had no probs!) so I'm guessing they've taken videos down for some reason - maybe there's a Bukem compilation imminent...?
