I know what you mean. I don’t want to start buying additional stuff, only use what I’ve already got. I did fall for some Tim Holtz ephemera but had to stop, it all becomes one big expense. I tend to hoard, which doesn’t help. You know how it is!

Thanks Mara, not sure about genius lol but I did enjoy playing with the paints.

Only real artists can do that. Lately I hear people calling themselves “creatives.” I was raised to color in the lines, and teachers would always say “ neatness counts.” I found in my life that neatness aka “added value” will get you through. Creative neatness is valued by employers. My daughter has that innate ability ( or was it nurtured into her) to add value. Other employees don’t bother so she’s always ahead of that pack. She’s very successful. Anyway, that ingrained ability makes it harder to be intuitive in art. That’s why I admire your book cover and your grungy journal. I have to UNLEARN and then LEARN to do what you do.

I know just what you mean. Even though these grungy makes look random, there is still that need in me to be neat and make things uniform. I do like tackling things that are outside my comfort zone, despite not always being successful. Your comments encourage me to keep on keeping on. x
