In this video I'm sharing a bit of mixed media magic! Mixed media made super easy using some of the brand new ⁠‪@49andmarket‬ and ‪@sizzix‬ stamps and dies designed by ‪@KatiePertietDesigns‬. I am so in love with the designs and images that I kind of couldn't stop myself once I started creating with them.

I came back again to watch. I'm having trouble with that Penciled Botanical set. that one stamp with the small parts on it- I don't understand where that goes. I wish some of these would have come with more detailed stamping instructions kind of like Altenew does, anyway I still love them and am trying not to get frustrated.. lol

I'm so sorry for the delay in responding. I think it goes over the small buds. I hope you were able to figure it out. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with where you stamp it because of the water color type look these stamp designs create.

Could this water coloring technique be accomplished with distress oxide ink pads and a water brush? I have quite a few distress oxide ink pads and I don’t want to buy yet another product I may not use that often….

If you are going for this look, I wouldn't recommend using Distress Oxide Inks because of how they react with water. They become oxidized or kind of chalky, so the color won't look quite like this. That said, you can use them to watercolor with because the inks do react with water. You might want to test it out first and see if you like the finished look. You may love it! If you have other dye inks you might try using those as they are all reactive to water. Just smoosh the ink pad onto your craft mat and then pick up the ink with your waterbrush or paint brush, making sure to add a little water to make the ink flow better. Hope that helps!
