I've been watching your videos for a year now and I don't think I've ever seen you as excited as you are doing mixed media. So great to see you enjoying yourself so much!!

That grey/brown cover + tags... that... that speaks to my soul. It brings back visions of Ireland, the stony walls in the landscape. I always said if I’d win the lottery I would move to Ireland. It’s the place I feel homesick for is the best way to describe my feelings. And just look at that cover, don’t you see a castle behind it in the far distance? I do 🥰

I have four children as well. All grown now. I think it would make an awesome moon journal. So very cool. What an awesome journal it will be...whatever it ends up.

These will make excellent backgrounds, tags etc. for journals. I am a mixed media artist, I don’t do journals though I love how they are created. In my opinion journals are created with mixed media and see no distinction. You use various materials and medium which is awesome and beautiful. Happy you are showing others who may have not thought that journals are not “mixed media” different techniques. 😉😀

Every once in awhile your accent reminds me of the movie 'Fargo', doncha' know. That cover would be great for a mushroom journal. I don't have any mixed media supplies but I bet those old scrapbook pages would be great bases for faux 'handmade' paper that Treasure Books does. Right now I use the old papers that aren't my style anymore to make journals/folios that I abandon around town for people to find. Great way to practice new techniques before I try them on journals that I keep.

So fun! I’ve been thinking about doing this ever since I saw Tina do this. It’s such a great way to use your unloved papers. I also try to make envelopes out of unloved papers lol Thanx for the reminder of this fun technique.

These are so pretty. I just watched Chelle Radcliff make papers using water colors and her patio table as a grid. She didn't gesso any just used plain white papers. Both methods turned out awesome

That altered paper from before (black,grey,tan) is drop dead gorgeous...my preferred colors. Every time I see one of you ladies use the modeling paste I tell myself to pick some up. You, I think, have pushed me over into action with this video. Thank you Gayle. The texture is outrageously beautiful. The only bad thing about watching you video today was finding out I could have saved $30 on the rolling cart I just ordered on Amazon if I had checked Michaels first!! 😖 great video

WOW! These turned out so pretty! I have not so pretty scrapbook paper, too. I don't have a gelli plate and can't get one right now. So, I am using my PC to alter some of my own original Artwork and I am printing that on some of the 'ugly' paper. It's turning out really well!! Thank you for even more inspiration, Gayle! HUGS!

Hi Gayle or G'Day Mate, Aussie accents are hard unless your born with one. Love a bit of Mixed Media. When I do a 12 by 12 with Texture Paste I use a Credit card to spread it around. Goes bit faster. Alcohol Inks and Rub and Buff are also great for colour. Never thought of using the page for a journal cover though. Thank You for sharing x

This was a really fun, cool session. I have some Tim Holtz sprays and need to use them more. Just as a note, I was in the other room at one spot and it was so comforting to hear your sewing machine. I never feel alone when watching you.

I just got a small gelli plate to use for 6 x 6 papers. I have a few that I didn’t like the pattern so I’m going to play around with it and see what happens. These turned out so cute!

Rubbing alcohol is a solvent for all things acrylic- it will clean the clogged holes where the modelling paste or paint dried in your stencil.

Love that stencil....I am thinking they are stones or rocks???? Or, am I wrong, which wouldn't surprise me! But, I do love it anyway!!!! And, when I look at the 'rocks', I see faces in a lot of them!!! I bet it does feel good, I LOVE texture in anything and everything too!!! I don't hear an accent from you!!! The only think I've heard you say a little bit different is *bag*, sounds a little like beg, lol!!!! But, no, I don't detect any accent!!! I love an Aussie accent too and I also try to imitate them, but I just can't, I sound just very weird when I do try!!!! Guess I'm just stuck with my ol' su-then (southern) accent!!!! Thanks for a really fun video, I'm now itching to try this!!!! In fact, I may or may not have gone on Amazon and ordered two 'biggish' stencils to work with!!!! Love ya, beautiful girl!!!

It’s funny about you saying you have a Montana accent because I never thought there would be an accent from somebody in Montana until I started watching you but you’ve definitely got a Minnesota Wisconsin accent. My mother was born in Montana but grew up in Minnesota, all my Finnish relatives on that side of the family are from Minnesota and you’ve definitely got that “oofda” “doncha know” kind of accent.
