@@nathwcx8299 She can, she just needs to phase WITH the object. In other words, she needs to deactivate the phasing then grab the object and phase again, otherwise she's just invisible. Kinda like teleportation.

The problem is this is not Superman so he doesn't have a weakness. He can still take damage, but it wouldn't be enough to take him down.

@@wijaya4565 Think about it this way: Superman could have easily destroyed batman 10 times over assuming superman cared for no one else and has no regard for everyone else's safety. However, it is implied and depicted by the comics that Superman is someone who cares about others and takes any means necessary to help others even if it means to compromise yourself for the greater good

@@KiRiTO72987 I find this scene better than the comics. Having Omniman just run through with zero difficulty almost feels like what's the point of even having other heroes. Here it actually seems like other heroes are important, as they aren't just fodder. Realistically, 7 top tier heroes jumping Omniman should at least cause him some trouble.

I think it was implied that what we saw, with everything slowed down, was from Red Rush's perspective in that moment. So what he experienced was exactly within the time we as viewers saw. In actuality, his head was crushed in a mere second or two, given that the other guardians only had time to take a single step forward before it happened.

The neck break on War-Woman was one of the most impactful death scenes I've seen. There's something about the sound design, the viscerally accurate drawing, and the fluid animation that just makes it feel... real.

For me, what makes Nolan a terrifying character are two main things: 1. He aimed to kill them, starting from the strongest until he saw that the speedster was saving the weaker, but also aimed to be hit enough to cover the whole thing up. On his gut punch to Inmortal we can see the difference in speed and strength. They hurt him because he LET them. 2. He did this because Mark obtained powers. His plan was to remain with his family and progressively weaken the planet's defense while not attracting attention. Then remain hidden until his family died, but when Mark obtains powers he realizes that there are two Viltrumites and that he has a "duty" towards Mark in involving him with his heritage. Nolan is playing games throughout the series. It's just a game for him. He has pets and a playground, that's it.

Well immortal is probably the strongest. His punches as well as war woman’s mace are the only things that can even do much damage to him. He took out red rush because he was by far the best support and was saving all their asses, and then he just slaughtered the east ones to get them out of the way. And then the only chance was Martian man doing the best he can do hold him down while immortal and war woman do the most damage they can. But even that shit didn’t work. Just too durable. And he caught the phasing chick by suprise. She could’ve been annoying to kill. Since she can just phase through his punches. The most useless were darkwing and aqua fish. Because they aren’t strong enough to do any damage and they have pretty human bodies

@@samuelbrown4764 yeah there’s that way of lookin at it too, my thoughts were red rush first because he’s the fastest one obviously so he can protect them an get more help or tell someone plus it makes sense cuz every speedster has to go out cuz they’re the biggest issues, dark wing I’m assuming if he’s anything like batman he’d be smart enough or could come up with a plan to take everyone out, green ghost she could phase thru anything if she’s paying attention ofc 🤦🏽♂️, aqua fish he could jus go underwater an out maneuver him if he escaped or gotten access to more water down there but still not strong enough to take him out yk but I’m sure he’d be a bigger issue if he was in the ocean lol, Martian man could hold him for some time so bigger guns can do at least sum and the rest of the power houses were like too obvious for me the easiest ones to kill cuz they aren’t really shit if none of the rest of the heroes were there cuz Omni man easily outpowers both of them combined

This scene is like the only time I've felt physically ill at animated gore, and I've seen quite a bit in my time. Castlevania, Berserk, Devilman Crybaby come to mind and none of them made me squirm like this. I don't seek out gory shows either, so maybe I'm just not as desensitized as most

I'm gonna have to say, same. I've seen actual videos of shotgun suicides, I've seen a guy get run over by a tank, I've seen a man be decapitated, I've seen the aftermath of a drive-by, and so, so much more- yet this single piece of animated media genuinely made me feel uneasy, and I had to go outside for a moment for some fresh air. Idk what it is, but it captures the gruesomeness perfectly.

Of course, if Omni Man has the same vulnerability to the supernatural as Superman, that might give her an edge. But I can't say I'd be eager to push her into that particular arena in any case.

re-watching this now, I think they did that to show Omni-man's use of hearing. He hears Darkwing above him thanks to his cape. Again with War-woman screaming going in with her punch. I think that's how he caught Red-Rush's punch, besides expecting an attack he just heard it coming.

see...it wasn't just the brutality of it....the sound design team deserves a lot of credit for this scene. I felt all of the hits. everybody has the least amount of reaction to the last death bc it was quick and just done. everything else had crazy noises.

Invincible is such an interesting experience. It’s so normal at the start, but when red rush is grabbed you get worried because you think “it would be gross if his head was crushed”, then he starts squeezing and you think “oh god he’s doing it”, then you think “they aren’t going to actually show it though, it will just be a cut to the other heros’ reactions”, but when it doesn’t cut, it’s just so startling and surprising

It’s testament to the show everyone is so invested one episode in to characters they haven’t even seen that much of, but most of the reactor already know their names. They made some cool heroes we never get to experience.

Very, very sad. At first, I was wondering why NO ONE was helping Red Rush. Then I realized, it was all probably happening so fast (even though we kind of see it in slow motion), they probably didn't have time to help their comrade-in-arms. Very sad.
