Sandy, that was too stinking cute. Love it. Just got these markers so I was thrilled to see this video for those coloring techniques. I would have never imagined those colors together to get those skin tones. And I absolutely love how you make your sky and clouds. LOVE IT!!!

Now, if I could make a hot mess turn out to look like that I'd be happy. One thing you have definitely taught me is to add some blues and purples to the skin tones. Another great video.

I'm just blown away how vibrant and beautiful this turned out. I just couldn't see it when you started. As you added layers and built in the background it just wham, all came togther into a masterpiece!

I have the 24 set of Zig's and just love using them. Your video was just the push I needed to play around with skintones...up until now, I've only been coloring flowers!

Thanks for the skin tone tips. I just got the 48 set of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and I think I'm going to love them. I will also have to pay attention to the watercolor paper I choose.

Hubby and I are creating a children's books/DVD series. We're currently working on skin tones, eye colors and hair for the characters. We're using the Zig Clean Color Pens, so this video was definitely helpful. Thanks!

I'm really glad to see you do African & Hispanic skin tones. So many videos I've seen on coloring people have been only Caucasian. I've been hunting for someone doing different ethnicities. Thanks so much for sharing this! I've already pinned it for future reference.

Tammy Mohr I have them - but not likely to do a ton of videos. They're lots of fun, but I like more realistic color for most of the images I have, so these probably won't be my go-to coloring tools :)

So ironic that you posted this today. I have the set of twelve and tried to make a Caucasian skin tone the other day and couldn't get it quite right, now I have several ideas to try, and I really appreciated that you did it with the pack of twelve. I know they make some markers that are closer to skin tones, but for those of us who don't have those, this was a huge help! Looking forward to a hex chart on these as well. They won't ever replace my Copics either, but I really enjoy them and am grateful for all the tips you've shared about using them.

Love the color combos and outcomes! I don't know what is PC but Caucasian refers to the Caucasus region between Turkey and Iran and would be a more Middle Eastern olive skin tone (like the Boston bomber). I have African friends that are very white, blonde haired, blue eyed. And I have black friends from England that aren't American. I know it is difficult to get skin tone terminology right without offending people. I just think these American terms are confusing to a broader audience. Maybe skin tones of those with African/European/Irish/Middle Eastern etc. ancestry is the way to go.

Yes, you're probably right---I'm just used to the American terminology...hopefully folks know I meant no offense :)
