Where did you get the slab of glass? Would one be able to use a Pyrex rectangular baking dish, I saw one in Walmart the other day, by turning the dish upside down and mixing the chemicals on the bottom of the dish?

Pyrex should work

What the heck do you mix into the powder? What’s that liquid stuff? Can you tell me what that is? Thank You
@ksenijastojkovski68362 жыл бұрын
Zink phosphate cement comes in two parts that have to be mixed, one is powder and second is solution.

Why the 6 increments and why initially small and then more powder ?

To encoporate mixing of each of the powder Particles very well !

they generate heat (exothermic property) which will make them sets faster if you add all powder one short. And therefore, the working time will be shorter. So if you add by increments, lesser heat generated compared to like mixing all the powder together.

I am puzzled by these zinc phosphate videos. Glass is a great INSULATOR (inhibits the transmission of heat). That would make it just about the WORST material to draw heat away from an exothermic reaction. Seems to me they should use a block of metal, ceramic, or marble. Then after getting the cement prepared, how long is it workable? How long until it cures? Can it be applied to a wet surface? Can the excess be removed easily?

It should be a cooled slab

They react in seconds. Depends heavly on thickness. We harden our mixes in 1h. When the mix comes dry out the spice dryer, it can be heatet up to 100°C for 2min and it is as hard as it gets. No water will bring in a dis-balance into the chemical mix. Go checkout "phosphate geopolymers" because they are more workable.

What was that? Looks disgusting!! Is that for filling tooth cavity? Can I chew or eat hard food after?
@ayatal-haidar18363 жыл бұрын
No it is not a cavity filling material. It is used as a cement to lute crown and bridges.

Thanks for the uneducated opinion and proof of why it is wrong. Only thing I see wrong is your lack of knowledge in how to make a useful comment. RIGHT!
