@@jiinsescapemusic because i just told you in the video. But, click on loudness normalization if you want. And see how low the volume gets on your music, when they "normallize" it. That is, if your original master is loud already, and not already super low in LUFs (-7 to -10 LUFS is the standard range in rap/hiphop records). if your master is -13 LUFS, then you may not notice a difference, but you will definitely not compete against major label releases.

@@turnmeupbao are you sure? I thought -7 to -10 lufs is for soundcloud, youtube, and instagram. Then -14lufs for distributors?

@@emanndaman8315 no mastering engineer is doing separate masters for different platforms. You can do yours at -14 if you want, and be the tiniest/smallest sounding song on Spotify/all platforms

@@turnmeupbao i want to test drop at -9 lufs 😅 but don’t want to risk with the artists I work with, because of fear of unnecessary compression. -14lufs haven’t done me wrong, but I do like the loudness at around -9lufs

I just uploaded my first song, I clicked on this feature. My song suddenly has wild volume changes after drops, drums, bass, anything triggers this choppy and ugly volume compression/limiter of this normalisation tool. Don’t you dare to freaking click on it! Now I have to remove and reupload this song over all again! Don’t click on normalization!!

@@colbychick had to do some legendary mastering honestly 😭😭. Look up the “LUFS” requirement for each streaming service and makes sure your tracks are where they need to be with a LUFS meter. If you want a simpler way DistroKid JUST rolled out a new feature where they master it for you & you could also use Apple Music’s drag and drop tool that you can download to get your masters where they need to be 💯

Been doing music for bout 3yrs and balance has been one of the more difficult tasks the vocals are always a little distorted its got better but i still feel inconsistent

Wish I looked into this before mindlessly clicking on that feature. Should've figured if my tracks were mastered by someone, it's already at the quality it should be and should not have let streaming services mess with the audio. DistroKid won't be able to remove the Loudness Normalization once your track(s) already released, otherwise you'll have to delete and reupload.

Bao, even if distrokid doesn't limit/normalize the audio as long as the box isn't checked do you know if Spotify, iTunes, tidal etc. will have their own process of limiting if the file is hitting over -14 lufs or whatever thier threshold is once it gets to them?

I just released an album via distrokid and found that for some reason the volume of tracks were significantly limited, and I never selected the normalization feature. I’ve been wondering if services like Spotify do it themselves… also interesting, when I release singles they are noticeably louder than full albums

Im new to distrokid and i uploaded my first song there , at the end of the process they made me chose between my original sound track or their enganced version . I chose the enhanced version because it sounded bouncy and cool compared to my original mix . Am i fu**ed up? If so tell me to delete it and re upload it please . They actually charge 10$ for that enhanced version .

why does distrokid distort my song when I upload it? As soon as I listen to the preview its distorted and I didnt use their loudness normilazation button.

Hey, thanks for the video! I have a problem, maybe you know the solution. So I have tried attaching my Master Card but it keeps repeating that my card has been declined, even though my card is active and I have a balance there. Also, I contacted my bank and they said there's no problem from their side. I have been adding my card for three days but nothing has changed. Any solution? my music might get deleted because of this!

Hi thanks for the advice.. I have a question regarding my first release should it be wave and 16 or 24? Or higher ?

Whatever you recorded in parameter wise…if you recorded in 16bit 44.1k then it should stay the same. If you recorded 24bit 44.1k then the same etc…I recommend always recording in 48k 24bit

@@turnmeupbao thanks for replying.. actually it was recorded in 16 and the arranger made prepared it as wave for 16 but I saw videos recommend the higher is better then I asked him to prepare another version 24, but from what you said I conclude it doesn't matter if the the final track was 16 or 24 or higher since the original wasn't the same. Then there will be no difference at the end by releasing it higher?

@@dr.mostafaalabyad8002 it won’t matter bumping it up to 24 cause the original files were recorded in 16…audio captured in 16 bit…so rendering it in 24 won’t make much of a difference because it started as 16
