This Japan vlog has so many amazing moments! We discover Miyajima has a ton of deer (we did not know this), we eat amazing Miyajima specialty foods (like maple leaf cakes and fried oysters!), are interviewed by the news (again!), take the ropeway, hike to the summit, and so, SO much more!

I am a citizen of Hiroshima prefecture. Thank you for introducing the charm of Miyajima to the world. On behalf of the people of Hiroshima Prefecture, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude. 77 years ago, the city of Hiroshima was destroyed by an atomic bomb in a foolish war, but somehow it was able to recover to this point. This is also thanks to all of you who visit us for sightseeing. Thank you very much.

In Japan, it is known as "firefly light". It is common to play mainly as the end of business hours, It is a familiar song in Japan as a song sent by current students to graduates at graduation ceremonies. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f86iqLaWq7SVias.html

That was fun to listen to - thanks!! Here is the US graduation song: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gd1dkqiomsi6qKc.html&feature=shares We heard the US graduation song over and over inside the conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Iwakuni. Do you happen to know what that song means in Japan? Were they trying to tell us to leave? 😂😂😂

@@TalesFromOurPocket I think many Japanese know the melody of this song, but I don't think they know that it is played at graduation ceremonies in America. I also imagined a solemn song when giving out a lot of medals at the game center, The manager has no such intention. I can assure you.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nr51pq6dutq9aJc.html

It seems that you like mountain climbing and hiking. I would like to introduce a region in Japan that is suitable for such two people. You can't say you know Japan without setting foot in this region. It is Shikoku. It is about going around the 88 temples that Kobo Daishi built in Shikoku. In Japanese, we call him "Ohenro-san". It has been visited by many Japanese and foreigners for about 1200 years since it was built by Kobo Daishi. It is said that it takes one or two months to complete the pilgrimage, but during the pilgrimage you will encounter the representative culture of Japan. By all means, it is recommended.

The name of Miyajima comes from the island of shrines, and the name of Itsukushima comes from the island that enshrines the gods. I am from Hiroshima and grew up seeing Miyajima every day, but for a long time I thought that Miyajima had a history of about 1,200 years since Itsukushima Shrine was built in the Heian period (794-1192) as an object of worship. I recently learned from studying the ancient history of Japan that there is a custom in Japan to worship mountains as gods since the mythical age thousands of years ago, and that there are remains of megalithic groups of stones on mountains that are worshipped as gods. The megaliths on Mt. Misen are evidence that the island's history as an object of worship may date back thousands of years. Also, since Miyajima has been considered sacred since ancient times, there are no cemeteries on the island to prevent the sacred ground from being corrupted. All the graves of the island's inhabitants are laid to rest on the opposite shore.

@@TalesFromOurPocket That's good. 🦌 One day , the deers in Miyajima suddenly end up being tortured, called Negresto. Food for Miyajima's deer, which were not wild, is now supported by animal welfare groups. It is a place where we can feel the coldness of humanity. Compared to Nara, it is obvious.
