Just a quick heads up about offline: takes an average of all hits left and right...standard deviation is more meaningful and the Mizuno was way less than the PXG. Also ball height and descent angle could be more important than spin...

@@embersgolf If you hit one ball 20 yards offline to the right, and then one 21 yards to the left, the average would be .5 yards left. As RC points out, a graphic of the actual dispersion (both front to back and side to side) or focusing on standard deviation would be much more important. Averages are great for things like clubhead and ball speed as well as distance, but not for disperpsion. I could see more of Trevor's numbers, and he was very consistent hitting the ball left with the Mizuno's while playing army golf with the PXGs (left, right, left, right). I would think knowing it goes the same way all the time would also be important.

Waiting for this comparison. I just purchased the JPX923 HM Pro’s 4 - GW. They are explosive. But I also have the PXG Gen 5 Driver and 0811 Proto 3 wood. Love the PXG stuff too. But I’ve played Mizuno since 2010. Thanks for the review.

Fyi pat Perez isn't with PXG anymore but when he did he played the P model in the irons. Quite a few other PXG pro's especially the female staffers also did.

hey guys, great video. if you look at your out to in, both where higher with the Mizuno and looking at you face to target between the two clubs I think would cause the little bit more off line. I am hoping this next year to replace my PXG, my game has improved, but not in love with the clubs.

Great video boys, those are the 2 irons I am going to be watching closely this year. Wished you would have done a side by side on head size difference as playability on miss hits is a big factor for me as a mid handicapper. Cheers Guys.

The offline number is calculated using left vs right misses. In other words, if half your shots were 30 yards left and half were 30 yards right, your offline number would be zero. Be careful how you interpret the numbers. Also, what is the loft of each club?

They are both around 29 for a 7. So similar and both strongly lofted

I don't think you said what the loft is for each. If the Mizuno is stronger loft that alone will result in more ball speed as the face is more vertical when striking the ball.

I think y’all need some different clubs neither of those had close to an acceptable descent angle. Might hurt the ego, but maybe try the xp’s and the regular hot metals or hls might improve your game more, and get that ball flying where it should.

We have played them a bit yes. The 225's never flushed well with Tayte. He will be getting the 223's soon. Trevor really like the Hot Metal Pro's but they were just a little to "hot" for him. So I think he will be doing the new Pro's as well. But overall they were great clubs! Thanks for watching, we will have more Mizuno content coming soon 🙌🏼

@embersgolf I just ordered my 923 HMP two weeks ago. Granted I'm coming from a very similar experience you both mentioned of gifted/hand me downs. So I'm excited as they worked really well for me. I did also do a fitting at PXG and they had fit me for gen 5 XP set so this video is the exact experience I had but I did not own PXG. Felt a little to rich for me as a whole bag set. I could have opted for the irons only and probably came out to the same overall cost. Thanks for taking the time to reply. 👍

Those are non functional irons for you guys, you need something that gets the descent angle over 45* , unless you plan on running everything onto the green

Mizuno are low bounce and PXG are high bounce. The Mizunos should suit a sweeper more and the PXG should suit someone who comes down steeper.

How do the lofts compare in the same # iron between the two? Often times there's a difference. If the JPX is stronger lofted, that would explain a lot. Your analysis isn't complete without knowing this.

So the gen 5 P is 30 degree 7. The JPX pro is 28.5, however my set was ordered 2 degrees weak. So 30.5. So it was pretty much apples to apples

Peak and Descent for both of you are extremely low. The Mizuno HL might serve both of you better...especially in thin air. Those are almost numbers seen from bladed hits.

The decent angle is much better than the PXG. The loft being strong doesn't hurt like in many clubs because peak hight is higher same with the spin. The descent angle more than makes up. Across the face the Mizuno will have more consistent flight and distance.

Sure you can hit on a screen or go on the course and watch the fliers lol I got people in my league that play these and other hot clubs! Hell my clubs are hot ping i525 that’s why I’m changing to PXG 0317 CB dispersion on the actual course across the face is phenomenal and 3-4 any direction a toe shot ends up a cut or fade depending on swing path and heel shots
