The University of Utah's Choral Department presents their 2013 Christmas Concert in the Libby Gardner Concert Hall under the direction of Dr. Jessica Napoles.

We did this song over 30 years ago in high school. We were an all girls competitive group. This performance was lovely.

The ladies in my high school choir sang this last year at our Christmas recital. Before the recital begins, the audience is asked to not clap for any of the songs or recitations until the whole shebang is over. When we finished singing this song, we got a standing ovation from everyone, including the man who asked them not to clap. Proudest moment of my life so far haha.

I remember singing this in my school district’s choral festival when I was high school. This song was in my head today so I had to find it on KZfaq! It is amazing what we can remember. I had a huge crush on this one guy in one of the choirs and at that moment he was my true love. Memories!

Why did they leave out the powerful last verse? Then afterwards baptized I was; The Holy Ghost on me did glance, My Father's voice heard from above, To call my true love to my dance.

Since this was apparently a Christmas concert, I guess they sang only the verses that pertained to Jesus's birth. I looked up the lyrics online, and there are actually 8+ verses that cover Jesus's entire lifespan, from birth, passion, resurrection, to ascension.
