He was a poor boy from a bootleggers’ town in the Texas backwoods. She was a cotton-picking Mississippi girl dreaming of stardom in Nashville. Together, George Jones and Tammy Wynette became the first power couple in country music. They were perfect in the public eye, but their tumultuous relationship was punctuated by George’s alcohol-fueled escapades and his paranoia over Tammy’s romantic past. She tried to keep the marriage from turning toxic, singing “Stand By Your Man,” her greatest hit, onstage with her husband every night.

I always thank the Good Lord for having been born with a halfway decent memory because I remember all those classic country songs he'd listen to. Odd thing about music is now i cannot touch a car,or do shade tree mechanics without the help of country music.

Ol' "No-Show" Jones !! ..... Haha !! .... I remember back in the early 1990's I had Tickets to see him at the Pat Garrett Amphitheater off of Route 78 in Pennsylvania.... We waited hours for him not to show up... Infact, I'm still waiting on my refund for the 2 tickets at $60 a piece, I believe.....

There are different kinds of love. My girlfriend, "married almost 20 yrs" lives here in Ca, her husband lives in NY. My girlfriend says, they wouldn't have it any other way... For me, next time around for, that's the way I'm gonna go...for several reasons...😭
