The only one actually doing the Backslide eas Bill Bailey. Charlie chaplin was just dragging his leg. Jeffery Daniels certainly did. Cab Calloway , were doing it i have no idea what charlie Chaplin was doing.

Cazsper Canidate says that he taught MJ the backslide. And him and Jeffrey Daniels were taught by another one this move, I can't remember his name. They both were working with MJ during Bad era, we can see them in Bad, Smooth criminal. Nevertheless MJ made art from this, using both moves, the backslide (retreating) and circling around oneself to illustrate the story he is telling in Billie Jean.

I was 13 when I saw that on television. My whole family sat there in the living room cheering for Michael Jackson like we were actually there. Lol It was a good time in R&B music back then. It's sad to know those days will never return neither.

I love this- no matter what age he is he can always sing and dance- he's adorable, handsome, he looked and sounded like an angel, he was shy, humble, calm, polite, hilarious and badass when he had to be badass- Rip Michael Jackson August 29, 1958 - June 25, 2009- I wish I was born during that time to at least see him once but at least I can see this now and we share the same bday month which I found out when I did my first project on him- his teacher and him made it look the best- still love it tho- Michael's videos and edits of him will never get old-

My favorite moon walk is 19950 mtv awards with Slash. That was the best ever. When he did that one, he was in full control of his whole body!!! Every single step was magical.the whole show was over 15 minutes. That was awesome. God bless Micheal Jackson as he was betrayed in every way possible. He was the victim as he was set up both times. He even said his biggest regret was paying that boys parents in 1993.
