This DJI MINI 3 tutorial us the ultimate Beginners Guide for every DJI Mini 3 pilot. Start with this tutorial to learn everything there is to know about the DJI Mini 3 so you can fly this sub 250 g drone with confidence.
In this tutorial, we will go through the DJI Mini 3 drone, the DJI RC remote controller (with screen included) and the DJI Fly app.

I was onto my fourth drone when I made a good choice. I was only four weeks in to my drone career!. I bought DJI mini 3 and it was a game changer. Forget the cheap ones.This video is the best I have seen. Watch it several times before taking to the air. No trees or buildings. Will save you having expensive disappointments. Chris.

As stated by others, much detail presented very clearly in a surprisingly short amount of time. One serious detail error, I believe though. It's at the end. When taking off, you had a branch overhead, so you moved forward. You then went straight up to set a safe return to home (RTH) height but you did not update your home point. So if your drone is forced to RTH, it will fly to your home point (take off spot) and land on the branch that you originally avoided. Just my 2 cents worth. Others may have already pointed this out but it was not in the first several comments that I read. Great job with this video!

Awesome tutorial. I watched several with no info on the WIFI. Saw your info to swipe down and set up. My screen was so dim on cloudy day first flight. Because of your tutorial I found screen resolution. It comes from factory set low. I increased to max and can't wait for next flight to see how it goes.

That DJI mini 3 does not have the true active track feature that the 3 pro has. However you can get “kind of” tracking via Quick Shots. So click on Quick Shots and then the best is usually Circle mode. Tap the + icon that is indicating you so you are tracked (or draw a box around you if you don’t have a + icon). Have the drone to the side of you . Then click to “circle” around you in the direction you are walking. Do a slow circle speed. The drone will now try to fly around you, but if you are walking in the same speed as the drone it will never manage to catch up.

Hi Thank you for the video. I am having no luck locating the active track on the RC. What is the sequence to activate ACTIVE TRACK on the RC? I can't get it to show up. I don't see the red lines you talk about in one of the other videos you have done. Please advise. thank you.

Active Track is only available for the Mini 3 Pro. If you have the Mini 3 as in this video, then there is no Active Track and that is why you cannot find it. That is one of the big differences between the Mini 3 and the Mini 3 Pro.

Hi, No it’s not. It doesn’t allow you to install 3rd party apps. So you would need the pro controller for that.

Does the Mini 3 operate with the DJI RC remote (I know it works with the pro version not sure about the mini 3)?

Yes the mini 3 uses the DJI RC remote. The same as the Mini 3 Pro. They are also compatible with the DJI RC Pro. Hover the mini 3 / 3 pro does not work with the DJI RC 2 that is for the mini 4 Pro.

I just ordered one to add to my modest collection of drones. I was wondering, what's the chance that Lichti or another app activating some built in features that DJI has dumbed down in the 3 Model. Such as frame rate, tracking, or such?

Great video thank you but please correct me if I'm wrong as I'm new to flying. But he sent the drone up and said 90m is above everything for rth. But then he set the rth height to 30m. Doesn't that mean it will try and fly through the trees? Thanks 👍

I've done some testing on this, if the drone is above the RTH attitude when you press the button (or lose signal) it'll stay at that altitude. For example if I'm flying at 100m and my RTH altitude is set to 80m the drone will stay at 100m. However if the drone is at 50m it will rise to 80m before flying back.

When you first get it out of the box there is some foam padding behind the camera. The DJI instructions and all the KZfaq channels do not mention this. Take it out, I left it there for ages because no one told me not to. Thought I had a faulty drone because of a 'gimbal not working' warning.

Please RECORD for me 2.7k 50 or 60fps!! Please :) I can't find such a recording anywhere, and in DJI Osmo Action 3 there is no difference between 4k6-fps and 2.7k 60 fps. I want to see if it's here because if not, I prefer the Mini 3 to the more expensive mini 3 pro :)

I own a mini 3 and i can tell you it can record at 50 and 60 fps in 2.7k. I prefer it over the 4k 30 fps when fast flying but use 4k 30fps when flying slow

If I remember correctly it was closer to -15°C that day. You know im to old to freeze. That’s something you do before you realize there are solutions… 😂 In a country where you basically freeze 9.5 months of the year it’s worth it. But that’s up to everyone to decide themselves…. 😎
