Sonya doesn't have highest damage in the game. Baraka and Spawn do more damage. Also, Geras was strongest character prepatch because he had 80% combos.

@@queercandy1 Not sure about Nightwolf. But all others can be played well. I think Kollector is also one of the more difficult to play characters. You could consider him bad, but that is just how you play him. Just a Funfact: One of the MK Tournament winners won with Shao Kahn. I think Scorpion is one of the best characters in low tiers but becomes very difficult to play against high tier players. This big disadvantage is that everyone knows his movesets, strengths and weaknesses by heart.

@@fenfire3824 yeah there are definitely characters who are mediocre, which translates to bad against really insane characters. i can't speak too much on nightwolf, because i haven't played him very much. shameful since i'm native american lol. but i really do think that nrs did a good job at balancing these characters and making them all solid in a vacuum. maybe i'm just biased since she's my main but i think skarlet is one of the characters who really needs a boost

​@@queercandy1 Yes you are probably right. I think MK in generall is the best balanced beat em up you can play. I haven't played injustice, because it is basicly the same with other characters but the same game mechanics, it may also fit into it. But other games like Soul Calibur doesn't even come close. It is difficult to say, which char needs a buff and which does not. As a scorpion player, i don't like, that you have to spend so many attack bars. It changes alot, if you have the fire spear buff active. But this also limits you too much. Without the buff, other characters like Spawn feel kinda OP. I don't play with the spear because i play with the advanced hell port build. And sometimes, it feels like all the damage i do in several combos are nullified by other chars with just one punisher. And that is annoying. e.G. Sub Zero does almost 40% dmg if his slide hits you the third time while amplified. Good players try to split it, so in the first round they don't use the third one and it is like 40% damage in round two for free. It is almost impossible, to be able to prevent this, if your oppononent is a good player. Unless you win all your matches with flawless victories... Same for Spawn, what realy frustrates, if you want to break out of his combo, you will lose two defense bars. And if you do not, you will lose 50% health... In my opinion, some very few characters are actually very noobfriendly. And that is the only downside for this game. I know, lots of people consider scorpion also a noob character. But what most people realy do not see, is how easy it is to block all scorpions attacks and how easy you can punish scorpion. He has almost nothing safe on block, his combo starters are very unsafe, have bad framedata and because so many players use scorpion, almost everyone knows his attack patterns. And you can down punch almost everytime first. Which makes scorpion actually realy difficult to play on top tiers. You need to be very tricky, try some feints lure your opponent into traps. Why do i tell all this, because i bet my ass, lots of scorpion players would complain alot, while most of the other players would complain, scorpion is too strong. There are some characters, which start shining if you know when and how you can interrupt your opponents. If you can do this, you are on a nother level as a player, and i think, it doesn't matter alot which character you play anyway :D

You won't get wrecked. There is skilled based match making. You will be matched with people of your skill level. It is one of the best fighting game for new players. Yes it's noob friendly. The tutorial is great too. Practice mode makes testing things easy etc.

Mids are useful cause if you know your enemy only uses highs, you can micro duck every time and he basically does almost nothing IF you know how,and you do it

​@@OctopusH2O I never had this kind of situation. And i played in the top tiers in pvp. Some minds there are good, because they are safe on block. But i never saw many players waiting for an opportunity to counter high attacks. You do poking a lot but only to interrupt their attacksm because poking is just OP in regards of frame benefits. I don't know how it will chang in mk1, but i hope mids will push more, that even if they won't be always have better frames, you could at least keep some characters like sonya, jonny cage or liu kang a bit away. It could be a good addition for zoning characters, so your mid may help to keep your own perfect distance. But i never had issues with players countering my high attacks by doing duck attacks. Of course poking as said, but you can always poke, just because it is faster. And i don't see poking as a real problem. It does little damage and mostly it is more annoying and strategic, it has little impact on the dmg outcome. It is mostly defensive.

You might be right Maybe its just because we just don't see him much or we don't see him at a high level.

Kano is considered mid tier. That is the general consensus in the community. Maybe we will see him higher in tierlists after this weplay tournament. His f1 is a problem.

@@Jolfvaka I also disagree with his F1 being a problem, at high level play from biohazard and sik we see more of the 24 into his CG than F1 into anything, his damage is good when you learn his tech, 375 for one bar, 405 for two, he has more jails than most of the roster, some of the best framed data in the game period, right next to sheeva, jax, and jaquie. The general consensus is a huge downplay, just like when I was playing kotal last year and everyone said he was too slow to be good, but now look where he’s being placed on tier lists. It’s all a lack of knowledge putting him mid tier, much like a handful of characters in the game.

I guess he hasn’t seen Biohazard play Kano? 🤣
