People are complaining that the Joker presented in MK11 does not look like a more classic-looking Joker, for example: the Joker in Arkham. The designers that worked with the Joker in Arkham altered the anatomy to make him look more cartoon-ish. It is simply their style. But when it comes to MK’s designers you’ll see that none of the characters are as surreally thin and bone-y as the classic Joker. It is completely logical they will also alter the Joker’s anatomy but instead do so to make him more /real/ or irl human-like, but not just any “human-like” but the kind that has the correct anatomy for a person that would fight (like the rest of the characters in the game).

I haven't played MK series since like mid 2000. Enjoying watching pro plays in tourneys and keeping in touch with the MK progression over the years.. The detail on charachters in MK11 just blows my mind. Never thought a fighting game can reach such hights and literally set standarts for industry. Can't wait to see more unique champions. @@shoganai2545 Though, do keep in mind: The Terminator is a pop culture icon who’s known by people from around the world. Spawn was popular in the 90s, but after the movie was released, the hype for Spawn somewhat died down, mostly due to the lack of Spawn related media being put out afterwards. We did get Spawn: Armageddon, but that game was pretty mediocre at best, as well as Spawn in Soul Calibur 2. However, he was only exclusive to the Xbox port, which sold less than the Gamecube port for the game, mostly due to the fact Gamecube players got Link as their guest character, which the Zelda franchise was (and is) still thriving at the time. What I’m trying to say is: Not many people from the last 2 decades would recognise Spawn. Funny enough, I know some people who’s first exposure to Spawn was in Mortal Kombat 11. As for Joker’s sales, well.. I’m not sure why his were lower in comparison to everyone else. After all, he _is_ da jokah baby.

Because of that he is a gripping character, and for the most part he is fine, but for the same reason the decision of some attacks that are uncomfortable to execute, could be different. A different uppercut, for example, is the most uncomfortable movement in my opinion. His fatal blow is very far-fetched. The fatality of the motorcycle is the same. I love the character, I think he could be better.

My theory is that since joker was a last minute swap for Ash that his model wasn't as polished as the others. Terminator is out in 6 weeks, Joker in 5 months. The only reason they aren't putting him last is so Spawn can conduct the hype train.
