My mk6 unitronic k04 gti is 119k miles and running strong. Just got stoptech brakes 328m coming in the mail. Roll cage next. She’s definitely a function form type car. I’m also a 10 year vw tech

Nice! Mine is now at 154K miles. Found a leak I think coming from the upper timing belt cover area, might need to replace the gasket. Otherwise still enjoying the car!

Great video brother!! Better be careful with your Chevy SS lol….VW GTI is 3100 lbs SS is 4000 lbs roughly ……340 hp vs 400 hp if SS is stock be a good race lol…..but I highly doubt your Chevy SS is stock : )

are your wheel bearings going out? sounds like when you bring your car up to speed I hear a wub wub wub wub sound. Either that or you have a nail or screw in your tire and every rotation it makes that wub sound. Car is def super quick for sure now....Have funs

Yeah I actually had the shop replace all the wheel bearings/hubs when they had the car, more as a preventative measure with the mileage on the originals. The sound is definitely annoying lol, I think one or two of the rims are slightly bent, but I am not feeling any wobble. I just haven't gotten around to swapping out the wheels with the stock ones to test for a change in sound though. Might just get new rims as these have had it. Car still fun to drive though. Thanks again for checking out the video!

hey man, how’s the car going after the upgrade? any issues? my mk6 has 135k miles right now and i want to go K04, but many said that because its high mileage is a death wish for the engine, but i want to do anyways, did u had any problems?

The top timing chain cover is starting to show some seeping of oil but that’s likely due to age/mileage. Otherwise no mechanical issues so far. Contemplating whether I want to sell/trade for something else, but not sure yet.

@@RedSS thank you so much, I will save up and go k04, only thing I need to do right now is carbon cleaning! have done timing chain, several dsg services, everything looks good in the car, except for my original turbo which is like yours was, kinda leaking boost! appreciate the answer!

@@BraynerBR let's hope the screens on the cam bridge, balance shafts, HPFP screens are not clogged... If it is DSG, soon need to replace the flywheel.

@@cali2468 Really depends on your intent and goals for the car. But it is listed as a recommendation for my setup, but not a hard requirement. IC will mitigate heat soak which could impact performance while driving the car hard, taking it on track days, or driving on hot days. I had a firm budget to adhere to and had to pick and choose what to buy, so I chose to hold off on the IC for now. Still drives well and doesn’t feel like it’s down on power when running hard, but it is winter time here, temps in the 20s-30s so maybe that helps lol.

@@RedSS Upon further research I don't believe Unitronic offers this kit for Gen 3 non MQB models so I will be instead looking into the intercooled kit from CTS Turbo.

I’ll answer this for you. No he did not, he has a dsg, and within the tunes for the dsg they increase clamping force on the clutch by increasing pressure. Stock clutch can hold quite a bit as long as the dsg is tuned. Ecu tune and dsg tune separate purchase

I'll tell you right now untronic lies!!! I'm stage two 2012 beetle turbo 2.0tsi e888 gen1 cbfa and the ecu only calls for 15lbs of boost.. yes, I ran live data to see what the ecu is calling for and what actual boost the cars sees... 15 lbs max.. STAGE 2!!! fbo...
