Immortal Samsara is another classic xianxia drama that contains themes we’ve seen in previous xianxia dramas. Despite the repeated themes, I still enjoyed this drama as it’s such a beautiful love story. There’s great character growth with the main characters: from the funny bickering scenes at the beginning to the heart-warming scenes of them falling in love to the heart-wrenching separation and finally their reunion. Both main leads were great with their performances. They sure know how to deliver on those emotional/angst scenes. 🥰 Their relationship has a lot of angst, but it was never one-sided. They both equally suffered in their love by each other’s rejections but they never stopped loving each other even though they’re unwilling to admit it. They were separated for early 900 years yet that love never died. I love the idea of the butterflies always flying around our main leads. Their journey together has taught them to learn how to love better and trust each other.
I will admit this drama was overlooked due to other dramas I was watching (Love Like the Galaxy and Love Between Fairy and Devil) and initially ended up dropping this drama. However, I continued with this drama after so many recommendations and requests I make an edit for this drama. Thank you to those who gave me the nudge to continue, otherwise I would’ve missed out on this great watch.

I know I’m pretty late on making this video, but I finally finished it after working on it for a few weeks. This turned out to be the longest video to date! 😂 I decided to go with this flute instrumental because it gave me the angst vibe I was looking for (even though I ❤ the original lyric song) and also this song usually appears during their emotional scenes. For those who are wondering about the ending, it’s a HAPPY ENDING! Please watch the last two epilogues to see the happy ending. Lol same as me, I put it on hold and focus only on LLTG and LBFAD, later continue because I was already in the middle and my two favs were there. I enjoy it but this xianxia was really not that well executed😪

"The agarwood didn’t extinct, instead, its fragrance floats to four seas" Sometimes I forget how much did actually happen in Immortal Samsara, I suddenly feel very sentimental and touched about it one more time, such a compelling, deep, life-teaching, and heartwrenching journey. The bond I have with this drama and its characters is quite special, so huge thanks for this fantastic edit making me feel one more time the experience I had with this drama.

Yang zi and cheng yi are made for historical drama they look so good in historical drama and both are together as cp is so hot seriously their acting in this drama so good never disappointed us

I started to watch this drama for Yang Zi and Cheng Yi and I didn't regret it. I love everything about the drama its cast, its story and its OSTs. Yes, most of the time it was sad, I had tissues with me while watching the eps but I enjoyed it despite everything. Yang Zi and Cheng Yi's acting are perfect as always. I can watch it again when I miss them. I suggest everyone to watch it. Thank you for this beautiful video MK916, I feel emotional again after watching it. I'm happy and sad at the same time.

So many people saying they've dropped this drama just because others says it. Because of the ending or whatever, just basically because some said it. If I were to watch the drama no matter how it seems boring to everyone, I will never give it up until it ends. To make a review, everyone must finish it. Thank you for making this video, this summarized the story of Immortal Samsara. I Am planning to rewatch this again. I'd love to feel all the scenes again no matter how sad , tragic and funny this may seem all in one go. While this was on air, I never get myself watch other dramas. 🐢 The actors here are great most especially Yang Zi, she never fail to make me feel every emotions in every character she's in. She's just amazingly wonderful! 💜

Agree with you that the actors were great in this drama, especially the main leads. I personally feel that Cheng Yi can portray his amazing acting skills better in this drama with the three characters that he played. As for Yang Zi, she great in every role that she plays. These two were great in their emotional/angst scenes. I definitely shed tears often in this drama. 😭

This drama is BRILLIANT. The cast popularity aside, both Cheng Yi and Yang Zi did such a fantastic job in portraying the pain, anguish and regret through 900 years of turbulence and heartache of Ying Yuan and Yan Dan. The character development of both roles are so well executed by the ML and FL, loved how their roles are reversed in the mortal world where mortal Tang Zhou was willing to let go of his responsibility to be with YD while YD learns to love YY more maturely and begins to understand the importance of call of duty. Both characters evolved so much as they experience love, pain and hardships together. YY 2.0 in particular is so enjoyable to watch and sexy daddy Xuan Ye is a bonus 🎉

This drama was one I looked forward to a lot and I haven't watched past episode 13 XD I will admit though that I was watching through the MDL comments from then on XD This edit was so beautifully made! Thank you so much! I was looking forward to this drama since last year, but it got overshadowed by LLTG and LBFAD (at least for me 😂). I’m glad I picked it up again because it’s not a bad drama to watch. It has quite a bit of angst, as do most xianxia dramas. I would recommend you pick the drama again if you get a chance. The angst was similar to when I watched “One and Only”.

OMG we are same, after watching Love between Fairy and Devil and also Love Like The Galaxy, I start to look this drama (based on other recommendation). I usually look for the summary video like this to know if I'm interested or not before really start watching, so very thank you for your effort!! For this 'short' video seems like this drama is promising (just like what you said, it's repetitive theme but still, I like it LOL) .. but I feel like I wish I could change the male lead 😄 (no offense to the fans, it's just my preference) .. 59 episodes is really long for me, I'm worried about the filler and I'm not sure about the ML, so I'm a bit afraid to start watching it 😂

Have you watched the male lead in Love & Redemption? He was great in that drama and that was when I first noticed him. He’s really really good in fantasy dramas and I somehow like him more in this drama than L&R.

Quite like IS but I love L&R more, so my view of Ceng Yi is not much improve until I watch L&R 😂.. Thank goodness I watch L&R otherwise I'll leave Ceng Yi as it is 😅 btw, why didn't you create the FMV for Love & Redemption even though you already watch it?

I have a lot of requests for an edit on L&R. I will eventually make a video for it in 4K, but I have some other dramas to watch currently. 😅

I just finished this a few minutes ago, including the two short episodes in the special. The special was needed to reverse the sad ending, I was happy. I am just sad Yumo is still alone. That woman who loved him found someone, I wish Yumo could find someone, I don't enjoy seeing him alone. The good about the show: It had some really special moments that I enjoyed. The third wheel relationship with Yumo didn't turn into a hateful thing, so that I really appreciated. I also liked some of the conversations the characters had, including the main couple. The individual fight scenes were great at the start. The dead fish lips kissing were a breath of fresh air. It was cheesy and reminded me of K-Dramas of the past, so I laughed. I appreciated their not being all over each other like that. The bad about the show: Again, this criticism is based on me as a viewer, others enjoy this but I don't - 1. Lovey dovey scenes where they look at each other, those took too long. Decreed by Fate was an easy and enjoyable watch because they limited these scenes to the point I actually craved more. 2. The first ten episodes were painful for me to watch. It needed to be done though, to build the rest of the story and provide contrast to future events. It also showed her care for him, which he reciprocated by helping her out in the Night Forgetting River. 3. The fight scenes were numerous, too much for me who prefers content outside of action sequences. They ended up becoming too repetitive and boring. Glad they didn't repeat phrases as much as in Love Between Fairy and Devil, but the fight scenes did just that here. 4. This genre relies on physical violence to elicit emotions of other characters as well as the audience. It also reminds me of what was done in Love Like The Galaxy. It's a method of story telling that does very little for me as an audience member and shows that use it rank lower for me. People's legs are routinely broken in sageuks because it was standard torture technique at the time, but it's never milked for emotional impact like it is in C-Dramas. 5. The flashbacks were too much for me, but for a lovey dovey show, they were needed. Any time flashbacks are numerous, a show usually goes downhill for me. I know some shows with a few but only to remind viewers of some critical information that they may have forgotten. One such show is The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty. I suffered more than I enjoyed the show, but when I enjoyed it, I enjoyed it a lot. Was it worth it, kinda but I will never come back to view it again. The Starry Love remains by favourite Xian Xia and this one is better than LBFAD. The ML had better physical chemistry with the FL in Love and Redemption compared to here, but the physical chemistry was still here. Also, I think the whole vibe has something to do with it. We had to see a contrast between the lead couple here and how erm, eager the Asura men who know they are Asura behave with the women they like. They tend to be more aggressive compared to heaven men ... thank you for the video edit, love it!

@@MK916Editz good to hear. I am currently suffering through Love O2O. Against my better judgement and from the urging of a co-worker who has seen it as her only C-Drama, she said it was very nice. Contemporary dramas and I mix like oil and water. I have been suffering since episode 12, currently on 17/30. God help me so I finish this quickly then I can start TTEOTM.

@@Sikhindu Love O2O was a good watch back then. But since we have so many good modern Cdramas now, it pales in comparison to how actors have improved in their performances. 😂 TTEOTM just ended a few days ago, so you can start binge watching it. Be prepared for lots of angst. 😭

@@MK916Editz I love angst in my shows so I should enjoy TTEOTM. I wish I could enjoy modern dramas, the last one I enjoyed was the K-Drama Bride of Habaek, mostly for the very good writing and complex story. Love O2O is just way too light for me. But this encourages me to read my books more as I am not addicted to a show right now 😁 I will continue to avoid modern shows as I have a long list of historical C-Dramas pending. I put Love O2O in tier four. I have eleven more episodes left.

I really waited for this edit since I've never watched the whole drama. But watching this made me remember Love and Redemption since it's kinda similar to Love and Redemp in some parts of this drama.
