It's far more important that the Sennheiser MKH 416 is a work horse, that truly captures the unique tones in one's voice, but a perk I didn't foresee is thatTit provides instant credibility in the VO industry. When perhaps a new client is deciding between their final choices for a voice job, they're looking for assurances that the voice they like, can actually deliver on the job and they're also seeking a credible reason to dismiss the other voice option they like. Having this mic means one has done their homework and is invested in their craft. Additionally, because so many of the very top voice over actors are recorded on it, there's an unconscious recognition of the sound attributes the Sennheiser MKH 416 gives to the productions. It says "pro". Lastly, I found that when I replaced my very good mic with this one, I no longer had to be as careful with popping plosives. That's when you hear an annoying air pop on the pronunciation of Ps and Bs. Those pops just vanished, so I no longer had to remember to slightly nod to the side on words with initial Ps and Bs, leaving me to concentrate on the emotional deliver of the content.

The MKH416 is an amazing microphone, but it does require surgical precision of the boom operator, when actors are turning their heads or moving; another skill required. I truly love the sound from this microphone. Sometimes I will choose a mic with slightly less side rejection, when booming from a great distance.

What kind of audio interface are you using - your audio sounds so crisp do you edit it or do something to it? What do people do when they are live streaming to have the voice sound as crisp as yours?

I wouldn't compare the Blue Blue Bottle to the MKH 416. They're honestly not in the same league. Also you're not doing a fair comparison. If you're going to compare the MKH 416 side-by-side with the Blue Bottle, then you need to bring the MKH 416 closer. A lot of the appeal of the MKH 416 is that it's so versatile. It's great for movie sets when taken from afar as it hones in right on the vocals. But people also like how it sounds when you bring it closer. You bring that closer and the Baby Blue Bottle would stick out like a sore thumb. The majority of Blue mics..lack quality...they're just marketed well...but a Baby Blue Bottle is certainly nowhere near the quality of a 416.

Fair point - it was just an example, that wasn't really the whole point of this video. Personally, I like the 416 much better, it's an all around better mic, and it's quite a bit more durable than anything else out there. It simply just doesn't pick up as wide of a frequency range as the bottle.. but there's a lot more to it than that.

@@TommyCallaway Oh wow! Thank you for responding! I actually wasn't expecting a response ha ha. And I hope my comment didn't come out rude. It's just that I've watched so many microphone comparisons for fun. I literally just sit and watch videos from Podcaststage, Boothjunkie, CurtisJudd and the newer LoKnows. I just love, absolutely love the sound of the MKH 416. It imho beats out microphones 3 times its price (coughs) U87. And while I've read article after article and post after post of microphones that are supposedly better than the MKH 416 in strides...they don't sound better to me with my ears. Nothing matches..not even the Deity S-Mic 2 (a 416 clone). It truly stands on its own. The 416 is the microphone that is the mic that every voiceover artist/actor guns for and there's a huge, distinctive quality with KZfaq videos and moviesets that use it. So maybe I'm a bit biased :P but yip, I enjoyed watching your video and you make very valid points. Also you sound great with the MKH 416, just an awesome mic overall.

@@dominiquebrown2890 I've never tested the 8060 and 8070 but I remember watching a direct comparison that was released one month ago. Don't want to put a link but look up Sennheiser MKH 416 vs MKH 8060 by Black Steel TV. I remember they were very comparable but the 8060 was $300 more.

I'm recording (the blue baby bottle) from the Mackie PROFX8v2 into my Zoom H6, and the Sennheiser directly into the H6. its not outdated. And it is cheaper than an iPhone ,galaxy or iPad.And Mikes like these need pre amps that are good, or else.

Hey I got a bit of some news on Pokémon go, since the new Pokémon ban wave two weeks ago, now here we are another ban wave last night, after the firs wave I didn’t trust any other cracked api apps like tutuapp, Pokémon go++ and many other, so I’ve been using your old method using Xcode and virtual machine, and it still works no Shadow bands no account bans and I have many! So it still out there

And probably the only way do hack in Pokémon without getting band just simply the way it work it doesn’t mess with the app at all just changes the location of the device, there is a new detailed post on durum show to do it, I’m running it on High Sierra final build and it works perfectly, it’s more or less the same as your videos before go check it out if you need a hack for Pokémon bc as far as I know everyone is getting band using other third party apps!
