Mount Kisco Fire Department Car 2281, Car 2282, Car 2283, Engine 104, Tower Ladder 14, Rescue 31, and Engine 106 responding to an inside odor of gas on Stonewood Lane in the Riverwoods Complex in Mount Kisco, New York.
The units seen responding are:
Car 2281 - 2010 Chevrolet Suburban
Car 2282 - 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe
Car 2283 - 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe
Engine 104 - 2007 Pierce Lance 2000 (1750GPM/750GWT/30GFT)
Tower Ladder 14 - 2010 Sutphen Monarch (100FT MM)
Rescue 31 - 2005 Ford F550/EVI
Engine 106 - 2007 Pierce Lance 2000 (2000GPM/1000GWT/30GFT)

Awesome video one of the best yet standing in the rain caught every unit that was assigned to this call I tell you that traffic was bad drivers of the rigs did excellent job getting through it

Great video. But I’m really quite amazed and perhaps a little jealous, or maybe a tad annoyed. Let me explain. I live in England. Over here, if I rang 999 to report an inside odour of gas, the chances are the fire service would not respond. If they did, they’d send an officer in a car or possibly an engine. But they’d be more likely to tell me to ring the gas board. And two hours later an engineer would turn up in a van. I certainly wouldn’t get three officers, two engines, an aerial and an ambulance blasting a path to my door.

Thank you. Let me explain a little bit about how things work over here. First of all, gas calls are taken very seriously and always prompt a response from the fire department and gas company. Unfortunately, due to aging infrastructure, fire departments that cover areas with natural gas service seem to chase gas calls all day long. Secondly, how departments operate and what responds to these calls varies by every individual fire department. For example, Mount Kisco is an all volunteer department comprised of four companies. For gas calls, typically one truck from each company responds, which is why you get four trucks here. Those officers in this video are all chiefs. Most departments around here only have marked cars for chiefs. They can respond to any call if they are available; but like I mentioned, it is an all volunteer department so that is not guaranteed. I just happened to get this video on a lucky day where all three chiefs were available to respond. And again, like I mentioned, every single department does things a little differently. Mount Kisco is a relatively big department, some of the smaller towns around here may only be able to send one or two trucks. Hope this clarified some things and again, thanks for watching!

Phaser, piercer, or hyper-yelp depending on the brand or model of siren.
