I know this is old but you should break down and by a portable mill. You can find them at a reasonable price. Kinda fun to play with in the woods.

You are right this is a very old video! To the folks that have used an Alaskan Mill and are ready to graduate to something bigger we are always behind that a 100%.

I have about 25 acres of woods that includes all sorts of hardwood, even walnut. I thought about getting one of these but as I watch this video it looks like a chainsaw and blade destroyer. if my chainsaw was a car, it would be like using my car to drive back and forth between New York and California every week. i.e, it wouldn't last long.

Dakota Banner Not a dumb question. A framing square will work. Just square ladder/guide rails to the first cut.
