I wanna drop videos each time I feel like I've made pretty substantive progress on builds for these tracks, and I think I've done quite a lot for this one so far. Added a few new strats in the mid to end section, playing a lot with visual feel (really think this style has a lot of potential), polished quite a lot more collision, fixed up some checkpoints, general kmp fixes and all that. I still gotta set up enemy and item routes to the best I possibly can (I assume maybe making a very long route that goes all in one cycle through the whole track could work, although it might get confused, it's still worth trying later). I also really wanna dig into this kind of broken up castle/mine hybrid to make it feel like a unique castle setting that feels Wario-themed, since the jam was Wario and I still wanna keep that impression :)
Overall, starting to like this one a lot. I need to play with more of those strats and get it just right so it feels really really exciting to drive in all sections. I'm thinking I'm gonna add some custom sawblade objects that move back and forth in a section or two to avoid that spin you out, and probably add some custom rolling chomp with spikes on it somewhere maybe. I think those types of things would help bring a lot of life here too, but those are just ideas.
Anyway thanks for continuing to follow and support if you do, I'm gonna keep grinding on these tracks and see if we can drop some of the secret best ones this year :D
