The best game ever played, imo.

Glad this is uploaded for it is one of the most UNDER RATED pitching duels in Major League Post Season History. No one talks about it ever, and they should as you have a Doc in his prime and Ryan, a Hall of Famer, both pitching absolute Masterpieces. Doc pitched 10 innings while Ryan pitched 9 and surrendered two hits. A shame this is not talked about more often when post season rolls around and pundits bring up pitching performances of the past after a present day pitcher pitches a classic.

Brooklyn3955, thanks for your comment....cuz it is spot on....as our Bone Daddy, the original Sportsphile who recorded the entire content that we are posting on our webpage at ImaSportsphile ....saw this entire series live....and he has always said that this 1986 NLCS had dang near the very best pitching by both teams that he has ever seen and may have ever been.

Hey Rocio thanks a Million for sharing this GREAT series with us,! the 70's and 80's were the greatest 20 year stretch in MLB history DAMN I MISS those day's! but sadly they are gone forever, the 1986 Baseball postseason was in my opinion the best ever, RIP Gary Carter Died way too young..

kellie johnson, thanks for your comment....for it is fans like you, who take time to comment that makes it worth the daunting effort it takes to actually post 2300 hrs. of absolutely classic vintage content like this video to www.imasportsphile.com ....and since we currently have 1700 videos posted with 9,000 more to post, we recommend you bookmark us and not rely on utube....cuz we have 100 different utube channels under different names that we use as "video weigh stations" for our content to be posted...so you will surely miss some more "nuggets of gold" in our treasure chest of memories

kellie johnson, you are more than welcome....for we at ImaSportsphile believe from the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s was the golden age of sports....which is what our 2300 hrs of vintage video covers that we are posting on our webpage....for we already have tons of baseball posted.

This game featured a missed call that directly cost the Astros a run and, thus, the game since it went extra innings and the missed call was before the 9th inning. Astros fans argue to this day that this play may have even cost them the series. And they'd be right--if it weren't for the fact that it's pretty well accepted that Mike Scott was illegally scuffing balls in both of his wins in Games 1 and 4.

@rociosuastegui47256 жыл бұрын
BrooklynMark, thanks for your question....and the answer is YES....we have the entire 1986 NLCS ....and we will be posting it sometime in the future....for we just posted our 1800th vintage video on our webpage....and we just finished transferring 7000 more vintage videos from sony betamax cassette to digital....so Game 4 is in the queue but we don't know when it will roll up as the next video to be posted....so, we recommend you bookmark our site and visit often to see if it has been posted.

Baserunning mistakes really hurt the Astros in this series.
@rociosuastegui56736 жыл бұрын
We at ImaSportsphile remember our Bone Daddy, the original Sportsphile....who was at the games at Shea for this series....always commented about how the base running mistakes hurt the Astros....and Dennis Menke was a pretty dang good base coach too.

Two mistakes by Billy Doran. Not knowing their was only one out in the inning. Getting caught rounding third in game 6. In a tight series the little things matter.

Victor Zapata, thanks for your comment.....as our best guess is that we probably do have the entire program....and since we are in process of the daunting task of transferring 2300 hrs. of vintage sports, comedy and music from Sony Betamax cassette to digital....in order to post the entire content on our webpage at www.imasportsphile.com .....where we currently have posted 500 hrs. (1700 videos)....so we have a long way to go....and the fact remains that we do not know what is on the next cassette in the next box until we pull it out of the box and dust it off and put it in the process for posting..... so, stay tuned. Although we weren't around back in the day when this library was recorded.....while considering what we have learned about the library to this point.....is that if one part of the televised program was recorded.....then probably the entire event was also recorded....and in this case, we hope so.... therefore, we recommend you click on our site right now and bookmark it....cuz we have 100 different utube accounts under different names that we use as "video weight stations" waiting to be posted on our site.... so you are sure to miss some real "nuggets of gold" from our treasure chest of "memories" if you do not bookmark us and return often.

Don't worry, we have got Game 4 with Great Scott vs Fernandez....we at ImaSportsphile just don't know when it will roll up in our posting cue....as we have only posted 500 hrs of our 2300 hrs total vintage videos that we have to post. PS....it took us 2 years to post 1800 videos to date....so it will take at least 3 more years to post the balance....but stay tuned.
